10. DESCRIPTION

This course consists of 64 hr of frontal lectures and 30 hr of practical part. The


frontal lectures and exercises are essentially focused on life cycle of an
industrial plant. The course will start by a part on fundamentals in investment
decisions. Students are introduced to cash flow analysis of an investment
taking into consideration the key performance indicators of an investment. The
second part of the course focused on plants design. Emphasis is placed on
practical methods to design the most important components of the plants
wired in a company.

FORMAT and
ORGANIZATION

This is a lecture course in which topics are presented by the Professor.


Practical parts are explained by the Professor and the Teaching Assistants.
Power Point presentations will be given to the students in pdf format before
each single lecture. Additional material will be provided by the Professor.

Students regularly enrolled at the 3nd year of the Bachelor Study Programme
Industrial and Mechanical Engineering.

16. RECOMMENDATIONS

Students attending this course should have already passed the exams of
Mathematics I, Experimental Physics and Energy Systems.

17. STUDENT
ASSESSMENT

Coursework will be weighted as follows: final written exam (70%), oral


examination (30%). It will not be possible to pass the exam if the final written
exam has a negative mark.
