WEDNESDAY: FULL STAFF MEETING 3:40-4:50 TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 70 minutes


For the first 15-minutes Josh and Steph will re-introduce the scheduling plan for next year. For the next 15-minutes Josh and
Steph will address next week’s parent/teacher conference. The final 40-minutes of Wednesday’s meeting should be used as
prep time for parent/teacher conferences. You may use this time to make parent calls, plan interventions and organize your
curriculum maps, binders, bulletin boards, and room for display.

FRIDAY A: GRADE TEAM MEETING 1:30-2:30 TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 60 minutes


Teams can use this time to make sure that interventions are set up prior to parent/teacher conferences. PT conferences are an
opportunity to bring parents into the conversation about students’ academic success. Additionally, grade team leaders will lead a
discussion on scheduling ideas and concerns. Grade team leaders will follow up this meeting with Josh and Steph after school
Monday, March 31st at 3:40PM in Josh’s office.
NOTE1: Grade 9 will have an outside PD presentation during their time.

FRIDAY B: P/T CONFERENCE PREP TIME 2:30-3:30 TOTAL RUNNING TIME: 60 minutes
This 60-minute block is prep time for parent/teacher conferences. You may use this time to make parent calls, plan interventions
and organize your curriculum maps, binders, bulletin boards, and room for display.

• MARCH 27: Bob Moses, famous civil rights activist, MacArthur Fellow and founder of the Algebra Project will be visiting BK. For
those interested Joshua has copies of a 10-page excerpt from Moses’ book Radical Equations. See Josh or Ivette to get a
copy of the text ASAP.

• A BELATED WELCOME: Joshua’s new secretary Ivette Pimienta. Please make her feel welcome as the newest member of the BK
team.

•THANK YOU: to those of you who opened your rooms and prepared your materials for last week’s Mock SQR. More feedback will
follow in coming weeks.

•PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES will be Thursday, April 3 (5:30-8:00PM) and Friday, April 4 (1-3:00PM). All teachers are
expected to be in attendance during those universal times. If you are unable to reach a parent via phone by Friday please send a
letter (and keep a copy of it) to the family by Friday afternoon. If you need help with the letter please see Margarita. No one in
danger of failing should be without a conference (LTAs being the exception). Your call logs will be collected before PT conferences
and will be worth 5 points. Please have your bulletin boards up to date and your curriculum binder (with an updates scope and
sequence map) available for parents to view during the conference times.

• INTERNET ISSUES? Please report any issues relating to internet access to Angel ASAP. For more information see Angel’s 3.25
email titled “Wireless Internet.”

• TEACHERS CHOICE: All purchases for Teachers Choice WERE DUE March 15th. SAVE ALL RECEIPTS. ATTACH THEM TO
ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT located on-line and submit them to Michelle by March 30th.

• ALL STAFF/TEACHERS MUST SIGN IN AT 312 WHEN THEY ENTER BUILDING.

• MAY 2&3: Friday/Saturday BK Staff Retreat @ Glen Cove Mansion, Long Island, NY (4th Reminder)

MP2 – May 2 GRADES DUE: Between March 9-12 - cut off 5:00 PM Monday March 12.
