UPDATE:

TEACHER REPS FOR PD EVOLUTION 4 & 5


THE BKHS TEACHER PD DESIGN TEAM
After our roundtables/staff meeting on Feb 6 & 13th we did not reach full consensus on how to proceed but got
a lot of good feedback and ideas. As a result of those roundtables we decided to best move the process
forward by:
1. Clarifying the expectations and time commitments for committee members (aka Job description).
2. Put a selection procedure in place

SELECTION PROCEDURE
• Interested parties have until 9:00 AM Friday morning Feb 29 to submit a one paragraph (4-8 sentences) e-
mail to aBKHS07@umich.edu explaining:
1. why you would like to be a part of this committee
2. what talent skills and ideas you would bring to the design group

From that pool we will review applications and select up to four interested parties for the team with an eye to
announcing those selections at Friday’s full staff meeting.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Members of the Steering Committee will:
• make a time commitment of approximately 7 hours of meeting time per month.
NOTE: To get PD #4 ramped up there will be a 3 hour dinner meeting Monday March 5 (at Restaurant
4pm-7pm & a two hour meeting Wed March 7th during & beyond grade team meetings)
• be paid Per-Session for 5 hours of work per-month.
NOTE: Some meetings will take place during PD time MOST will occur outside of school hours.
• create design for PD Evolution #4 and #5 for next fall.
• decide how to divide professional time.
• establish and articulate staff priorities and goals.
• develop protocols for productive grade and department team meetings.
• meet with teachers to get formal and informal feedback and report that feedback to administration on a
regular basis.
• take part in SQR preparations
• further establish staff governance
• work in conjunction with schedule/programming team
• develop survey and feedback protocols for further PD work

GRADE TEAM FEEDBACK FROM EVOLUTION #3
The following questions are being put forward as a mini-survey for individuals to answer at today’s Grade Team
Meeting. The Evolution #3 survey did not specifically address the questions below. Please take time to answer
these questions individually. You can discuss your answers as a grade team if your so choose. This feedback
will be used by the PD DESIGN team as we look at procedures and protocols for Evolution #4. Thank You!
