Douglas County Selects Community Health Nurse
Minden, Nev. Catherine "Cat" Fuller has been selected for the Community Health Nurse/Advanced
Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) position at the Douglas County Community Health Clinic.
After a nationwide recruitment, Carson City Health and Human Services along with Douglas County have
selected Catherine Fuller for the position of Community Health Nurse/APRN at the Douglas County
Community Health Clinic. The interview process occurred in February 2016 and included a panel of
nursing, social services, and administrative leadership from the Carson City and Douglas County
Community Health and Social Services agencies.
I am very honored to serve the residents of our county and the surrounding areas," said Catherine Fuller.
I look forward to offering compassionate, competent, and quality women's health, family planning, STI
testing, immunizations, and well child check-ups in a convenient and friendly atmosphere with the team
already in place. They are amazing!"
"Cat" has lived in Douglas County for 23 years and is married to Nevada native and wildland firefighter,
Deric Fuller. She has loved the Carson Valley since she was a little girl spending time in the area on
family vacations. Her eldest son, Caleb, is a 2005 Douglas High graduate with a beautiful wife and
successful career as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Southern CA. Her middle son, Nick, is a successful
restaurant manager and also works for Full Circle Compost in sales and marketing. Her youngest
daughter, Emilie, is a lifeguard at the Carson Valley Swim Center, Junior Class officer and honor student
at Douglas High School (class of 2017).
Catherine comes to the Douglas County Community Health Clinic with over 30 years of health care
experience in the fields of physical therapy, government policy, nursing, education and family practice.
She earned her AAS Degree from L.A. Pierce College (Physical Therapist Assistant), her Bachelors
Degree in Nursing from UNR, Masters Degree In Nursing Education from Walden University, and her
Post Master's Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UNR. She attained National Board
Certification as an FNP with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her specialty is family
practice with an interest in women's health, diabetes, community health, and nutrition.
Catherine began her official role as Community Health APRN as of Monday, April 4, 2016. Ms. Fuller
replaces the former Community Health APRN who resigned in December of 2015.
