Twenty-seven years ago, Arbonne was introduced in the United States.
Twenty-six years ago, I fulfilled a childhood dream by graduating from
medical school. At that time, I knew nothing of Arbonne International,
and, if I did, the thought of being an Arbonne Consultant would have
been the furthest thing from my mind.

After graduation, I pursued training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Why Ob-Gyn? Obstetrics and Gynecology is a unique subspecialty of
medicine combining gynecological surgery with the miracle of deliver-
ing babies and the ability to be a primary physician for women. It also
offers the opportunity to have continuity of care and develop long-term
relationships with patients.

On July 1, 1985, I joined a very successful Ob-Gyn group. Thirteen

years later, I accepted a position as Division Chief of Ob-Gyn for a large
multi-specialty medical group. Four years ago, I gave birth to a new
medical practice called Women’s Health & Wellness with my current
partner DM Steven Cohen, M.D., with two brand new state-of-the-art
locations. At that time, I was interested in creating multiple streams of
income and leveraging my time.
So why, after 22 years of providing Ob-Gyn medical care, would a
successful physician making a six-figure income become interested and
involved in a skin care company in the direct selling industry?
I was always intrigued by my extremely wealthy friends who earned
many multiples of my income while working a fraction of the time that
I did. While away on vacation with them, they would continue to be
earning money while my business was idle. Although I was interested
in multiple streams of income and time leveraging, I felt trapped in the
medical profession. Since I was working 70-80 hours per week, there
was no time to learn a new profession or skill and I did not have the
financial means to quit a six-figure income to start a new career.

My initial interest in Arbonne was purely financial; as a vehicle to develop
additional streams of income, leverage my time and create a mecha-
nism for residual income during my retirement years. Arbonne is unique
because it has allowed me to accomplish all of this while maintaining
a full-time Ob-Gyn practice.
Although I worked ridiculous hours and made many personal sacrifices,
medicine has been so rewarding for me intellectually, emotionally, inter-
personally and even financially – until recently. The financial environment
of the medical profession in this country is in shambles and continues

and enthusiastically act upon,
must inevitably come to pass.

quitting the profession, looking for other careers. They aren’t leaving the
profession because they lost the passion and they aren’t leaving because
the art of medicine isn’t a rewarding or worthy profession. They are
quitting because they cannot pay their bills to keep their offices open.
No savvy businessperson would operate a medical practice within the
current constraints. Rising overhead and skyrocketing malpractice pre-
miums, along with frozen or decreasing reimbursement from insurance
companies, will soon bring the private practice of medicine, as it exists
today, to extinction.
A few years ago, I developed a cosmetic component for our medical
practice as an additional stream of income. Knowing this, ENVP Lisa
DeMayo approached my partner, my nurse and me to see if we would
be interested in becoming Consultants with Arbonne. We declined!

To AM Doug Schonfeld: Your unyielding energy and enthusiasm is so

To AM Dr. Belinda Basaca: You are an extremely caring physician
with unbelievable talents, energy and willingness to share with others.
Continue to think “big” and being an NVP is right around the corner.
To EAM Ina Lutin, RN: You have been a tremendous friend, a pillar during

Approximately eight months later, after hearing more about Arbonne,
we again met Lisa. This time, the time was right – we were ready and
we became Consultants. With Arbonne, the ability to leverage my time
and develop multiple streams of income was a reality. Since Arbonne
produces consumable health and wellness products, which are natural
and botanically based and are targeted to the baby boomers, it created
a perfect fit for my practice.
By allowing Lisa DeMayo, who has been hugely successful in Arbonne,
to do her job by teaching and training me to duplicate her business
model, my road to Regional Vice President has been swift. Seventy-five
days after becoming a Consultant, I became an RVP, and I am well on
my way to achieving my goal of becoming a National Vice President.

your drive, your vision and your belief will carry your entire Nation to
greatness. You have tremendous leadership qualities and I will always
be grateful to you for expanding my world, my visions and my beliefs.

The rise to RVP, along with its financial benefits, was planned and
expected. What was not planned and expected from this journey was
the personal growth, the expansion of my future goals, my new visions
and the unbelievable feeling I get when I help others enjoy the same
by becoming Arbonne Consultants. This secondary benefit has quickly
superseded the financial rewards. In so many ways, my Arbonne career
closely parallels my medical career and getting involved with Arbonne
has been a true “gift.”

To my family: To my parents who always made my brother and me feel

you. To Eric and Daniel, a father cannot ask for better sons; I love you
both. To my wife, Liz, although we have gone our separate ways, you Evan’s awesome office staff.
