About the role
As a Graphic Designer, youll be working with clients across Government. Itll be your job to take their
communication objectives and convert them into compelling designs and concepts. Youll be able to
work freely across a variety of media including photography, digital, and illustration.
About you
Youll need to be an experienced mid-weight design professional, with relevant qualifications, who can
take projects from concept stage through to artwork and production. Youll be an all-rounder with
knowledge of industry standard design software, digital photography, and commercial printing. More
specifically, youll have excellent typographical and layout skills alongside an interest in emerging best
practice, techniques and technologies.

We are now seeking a Designer to join a growing Creative Studio, and work with the Trade marketing,
Audience insights and Jobs marketing departments.
The purpose of the role will be to produce the production of marketing and promotional material for a
variety of projects and campaigns, which will involve creative ideas, graphic design and layouts across all
platforms.
You will be delivering ad designs and promotional assets in print and online, presenting commercial
insight and research material in visually appealing graphics and assisting the Art Director with outsourced
projects as needed. This creative scope of this role is quite varied, and you can expect to be working
independently or in a team, depending on the project.
The successful candidate will have experience in the online and print design industry, preferably with
agency or editorial experience as well as a HND or BA design qualification. Your experience and strong
portfolio should reflect your flexibility and imagination, with consistent skills in typography, photography
and illustration. This is a unique opportunity to develop a visual identity and creatively represent the
Guardian and Observer brand and products.
