After a rigorous two year training program at IIM Kozhikode, the Post Graduate Program batch of 201113 is now ready to face the corporate industry and become an integral part of prestigious organizations
across the world this January. The batch comprises of students from all corners of the country and
represents diverse backgrounds. This publication is intended to help you, as a recruiter, to reach out to
the best students that are suited to your company
LATERAL AND FINAL PLACEMENTS THE CONCEPT
PLACEMENTS PROCESS
The placements are conducted at the end of the second year for final

Economics, Operation, Information and Technology, the batch of 201113 is now ready to face the challenges of the industry as a part of different
organizations. They carry with them, the in depth knowledge gained during
their summer internships with different organizations, the academic
knowledge imbibed through various electives across the different verticals,
library based self-study, group work, discussions and the exposure to a
variety of real world problems in terms of the different competitions, live
projects that each student has been a part of at IIM Kozhikode.
During placements, companies are allotted slots based on a democratic
slotting process. The process for laterals, a process by which the
companies can select candidates with relevant work experience will start

FINAL PLACEMENTS 2011-12 - AN OVERVIEW
GETTING TO KOZHIKODE
The Final Placements 2012 of IIM Kozhikode witnessed the

participation of 135 companies making offers to 317 students
across all vertcals. In spite of recessionary pressures, IIM
Kozhikode strived to carve out a niche for itself by placing its
14th batch in reputed companies like Deutsche Bank,
Goldman Sachs, TAS, HUL, ITC etc. The average salary per
student also saw a rise of 7% over pervious years figures.
Location
Kozhikode (also called Calicut) is the third-largest city in
the state of Kerala. The capital of the erstwhile Malabar
district, Kozhikode city is the headquarters of the
Kozhikode district. A melting-pot of diverse cultures,
Kozhikode is an important trade centre in south India,
associated for long with trade in spices and silk. Today,
Kozhikode is famous for its palm-fringed beaches,
tropical forests, and Ayurvedic therapy. You can plan on
extending your stay if you wish to tour other parts of
Kerala.
The number of PPOs offered too saw and increase of around

183% from 18 in the previous year to 51 in 2012. Many students
also decided to join start-ups to test their entrepreneurial
abilities and venture into newer domains.

have frequent flights from Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai
to Kozhikode International Airport. Cochin International

Cochin and Kozhikode are connected by direct flights.

A Mining Engineer from ISM Dhanbad, Abhinav has an excellent academic record.
He has represented India in various international competitions and was selected
among global top 25 teams in Schneider Electric Go Green in the City Challenge,
2012. During his summer internship in Consulting domain at Software Associates,
he devised KPIs for health care organizations and Activity Based Costing Models
for the firm. He has won several Olympiads in Mathematics and has built Financial
Models with multiple valuation techniques for mergers and acquisition based
projects and competitions. A cross country runner and an enthusiastic athlete, he

The project included a satisfaction survey, benchmarking, ROI model correction,
designing a profiling tool, an induction program and a new incentive model for
distributors. As a placements committee member he converted several first time
recruiters on campus at IIMK. He scored record highest marks in ISC from his

substantial revenue enhancements and cost savings. Ankit is the coordinator of
the annual management-festival (Backwaters) committee. He designs and
organizes competitive events under finance and general-management verticals
for Backwaters. As a theatre actor he has won several national level awards and
has also represented his district in state-level basketball tournaments.

since then. He also contributed in finalizing their brand book contents in the likely
scenario of their entry into retail sector in the near future and also recommended
future potential targets segments. During his electronics graduation, he developed
an automated color detecting robot capable of constructing a small bridge. An

(EBFs) in GSKs Top 20 markets. She analyzed the market opportunity for the
portfolio and developed different scenarios for opportunity gained/lost based on
GSKs order of entry in these markets. She has been selected for the international
exchange program at Universita Bocconi, Milan, Italy. She has been a State Topper
in Std 10 and 12. She loves reading murder mysteries and watching thrillers.

in business administration from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. He
has previously worked with NRI Projects Management India Pvt. Ltd., a company
based in Kozhikode with the aim of developing the infrastructure in the city. He has

Bank, in sales and products division, transaction banking department for LC/MM/
CTA division. Profiling the shipping sector, she delivered two new products on
receivable services and cargo handling in supply chain for the clients of SC bank,
whom she met personally to deal with the nature of her work. She has done live
projects in due course of her MBA, e.g., on strategy at IITMK, Trivandrum. She
loves debating and acting. During her graduation, she was associated with a local
theatre group and has done street plays for social causes nationally.
