PREFACE

Project study is an essential part for post graduate program in the discipline of Master of
Business Administration (MBA). Actually it is the way to practice what we have learnt. It
enables students to apply their conceptual knowledge in the practical situation and to learn
the art of conducting study and presenting its findings in a scientifically and systematic
manner.
It has been a learning experience to prepare the project report as a part of MBA program. The
study has been made to gain better understanding about Ratio Analysis. I have pursued this
project in Punjab National Bank.
This project deals with different types of risks in banks, methods to identify them, monitor
them, manage them and control them. This project includes some rating models which can
use to rate credit borrowers. Efforts have been made to incorporate the latest changes. Any
suggestion or observation from the reader will be thankfully acknowledged.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As a part of the partial fulfilment of the M.B.A course at S.D. COLLEGE OF

MANAGEMENT STUDIES. Summer Training was undertaken with the Punjab National
Bank.
This project is specially designed to understand the subject matter of Financial Statement
Analysis through various ratios in the company. This project gives us information and
report about companys Financial Position. Throughout the project focus has been on
presenting information and comments in easy and intelligible manner.
The purpose of the training was to have practical experience of working in an organization
and to have exposure in the various management practices in the field of finance. This
training has also given me an on the job experience of Financial Management.
The result of the diploma thesis is a concept for Punjab National Bank for the
implementation of an active Ratio Analysis in Financial Organization. The concept
includes the necessary steps for implementing the organisation for the ratio analysis in
financial organization and measures for the continuous improvement of the ratio analysis.
This project is very useful for those who want to know about company and financial position
of the company.
