Introduction
Knowledge Management (KM) is on the agenda of government
worldwide. Today, civil servants and government agencies are
facing complex social-economical-technological environment
and information overload. Therefore, effective knowledge
management is essential to enhance the internal structure and
process of an organization for the delivery of high quality
services and better decision-making.
To align with the Digital 21 Strategy for building a knowledge-based society, the HKSAR
government has been actively promoting knowledge management among bureaus and
departments. Their efforts in implementing the KM initiatives have been well demonstrated with 3
government departments being conferred with the Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge
Enterprise (MAKE) Award since its inaugural launch in Hong Kong in 2008.

This event provides participants with the chance to learn and share the knowledge management
experience and practices with representatives from overseas and local government departments.
