STATEMENT OF PURPOSE MBA

Studying for an MBA requires a certain determination and strength of character. In recent years, the business world
has become rapidly integrated across once restricting borders, and anyone with high goals in the business world
must have an international perspective and be aware of the realities of different international arenas. I am unique,
and uniquely fortunate, to have a diverse background both academically and professionally which has exposed me to
different continents, peoples, cultures, and languages. As a native of Asia, I am familiar with the increasingly
important markets of this region, and as such I am thoroughly prepared for the demands and challenges presented
by undertaking study in the MBA program at your institution.

From a young age, I set goals beyond those of my peers. I decided to pursue a Bachelors degree in International
Hotel Management, but in recognition of the limitation of programs in this field in my native country, I decided to
pursue my undergraduate degree in Europe. The international hotel management course I joined was run by
Goodwell University in the UK, and due to the experience of the instructors and the overall sophistication of the
program, I received an incredibly valuable learning experience, beyond that which I could have received elsewhere.
My undergraduate coursework at Goodwell University focused on management marketing, accounting, and various
aspects of tourism. I received broad business-based education while immersing myself in European culture and
language on a daily basis. As a result, I am confident in my ability to adapt to your environment and join your MBA
program.

After graduation from Goodwell University, I returned to my native country, but the limitations of the rapidly growing
domestic hotel industry quickly became apparent to me. I therefore sought employment in a different field in which I
could better utilize my skills. I began working in the Marketing Department of Makebest Textile Company, where I
learned how to control costs, devise marketing strategies, and develop lasting relationships with customers. I am
currently working as the Assistant Sales Manager in this company, responsible for the development of overseas
customers and analyses of sales goals.

After more than three years in this company, I am confident working in a fast-paced international business
environment. However, during these years I have encountered numerous obstacles and unforeseen challenges.
Therefore, after careful consideration, I decided that further study in an MBA program would be not only useful, but
perhaps essential in developing my career potential and providing me with greater opportunities for future success.

My career path has led me from the rapidly developing markets of my native country in Asia to the rolling hills of
England and back again. Now, I feel that the next logical destination on my path is your MBA program. The curriculum
of your MBA program is similar to that which I studied previously, yet it is much more challenging and will allow me to
develop my abilities further. I already have a strong background in various aspects of business, from marketing and
management to accounting and sales. Because of this, I feel I am uniquely qualified to attend your MBA program.

After completion of my studies, I plan to return to Makebest Textile Company and apply what I learn in your program
to the benefit of the company. Within five years after graduating, I expect to have developed a successful career that I

can be proud of. I believe that my past shows a steady yet rapid progression through the business world, and I am
eager to continue that progression by enrolling in your MBA program. Thank you for your time and consideration.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE - BRAND MANAGEMENT / BRANDING

My interest in branding derives from a number of factors, including my university studies, my work experience, and
my time working and travelling in the USA. I have seen firsthand how important brands are to modern companies in
distinguishing themselves from competitors. I believe brands to be more than simply strategies for companies to sell
their products and services; rather, to me, a brand represents my belief that everything that is good deserves to have
a name and to be recognized. A good brand is essentially an assurance of quality that can be strengthened over the
years. A brand is, in essence, a language that can cross borders and cultures, and brands are thus crucial in the age
of globalization.
It is due to my understanding of the value of branding that I am inspired to apply to your MSc Brand Management
program. Having already acquired work experience in marketing and brand development, I believe that further
advanced training in an international setting will enable me to make truly unique contributions to this field in my native
country in the future. After finding your program online, I carefully read the course details and quickly fell in love with
it. The schools ranking among the best business schools immediately attracted me, and the instruction in cutting
edge approaches to branding will assist me a great deal when building and promoting brands in the future. In
addition, the programs focus on consumer behavior is especially attractive to me, and I am eager to engage in indepth studies of brand management and marketing strategy planning. As a native of eastern Europe who has lived in
the USA, I am fluent in Russian, Ukranian, Polish, and English, with conversational French skills. I am therefore very
excited at the prospect of studying abroad and adapting to a new culture, as this will help me tremendously in my
future work.
My academic and work experience has prepared me well for the challenge of joining your program. Due to my
excellent academic record in high school, I was admitted to the top-ranked university in my country. Currently, I am in
my final year of the Bachelors degree program, with a specialization in International Economic Relations. This
program has been wonderfully instructive. I have developed a broad understanding of the complex financial and
economic issues that are relevant in todays global environment. In my interactions with the students and experienced
professors, I have learned about policymaking and market dynamics while greatly improving my range of analytical
and communication skills.
While in the university, I held a number of professional positions which provided me a much more practical
perspective, as I had the chance to apply what I was learning in classes. My experience as an Assistant Manager at a
retail company in Los Angeles was particularly eye-opening for me. In this leadership position, I needed to monitor
the employees compliance with the companys marketing strategy, oversee the implementation of sales goals, and
report to the manager regarding these developments. In this fast-paced work environment, I felt invigorated and
constantly inspired. I greatly enjoyed working in the USA, and at the age of 18, this made me a much more
independent person and helped me understand my own skills and strengths better. Perhaps most importantly, it was
this experience which instilled in me a passion for marketing and branding.
Since November of last year, I have been working as a Marketing Manager at Goodwell Law Firm in my home
country. This work has solidified my interest in marketing, as I have natural talents in this area, and I find this work to
be very interesting and stimulating. I work in the development and execution of marketing strategies, which involves
thoroughly analyzing the local market and our competitors. Moreover, through the process of arranging and
managing various events, I have developed good project management skills. I have received positive feedback from
my superiors, which I attribute to my diligence and dedication to my work. I will devote all of my effort to the project to
which I am assigned, and I will work long hours often working late into the night in order to complete the project in
a timely manner.

The more I think about my career goals, the more obvious it is that I should specialize in branding. I genuinely enjoy
this work due to the inherent creativity and personal interaction that it involves, and I believe that I could make great
strides in a career in this area. I have always been good at making decisions, which is due to a mixture of confidence,
expertise and intuition that characterizes my personality. People often ask me for advice, including elders and people
who are more experienced than I am, and I treasure the chance to come up with creative solutions to help them out.
In addition, I have a very analytical mind, which is why I have always enjoyed studying math, and I pride myself for
being very flexible and sensitive to other cultures. These qualities make me especially well suited for the field of
marketing and branding, especially in todays globalized business world.
Regarding my career goals, I am very ambitious; I believe that in todays competitive business environment, it is
crucial to set very high goals for oneself. After completing my masters degree, it is my dream to return to my native
country and devote my talents to the creation of domestic brands that can be promoted throughout the world. It is my
aspiration to lead domestic businesses to worldwide recognition. In the modern world, however, such recognition is
based not solely on quality, but increasingly on the brand image associated with the company and its products.
Therefore, it is my goal to become a brand manager so as to creatively solve the problems confronted by businesses
as they expand to international markets and compete with other, more established brands.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE ACCOUNTING

In recent years, my native country of XXX has adapted to the trend of globalization and transformed from a low-tech
manufacturing base into a technology-based economy. Growing up in such a dynamic and quickly developing
economy has given me a strong interest in taking part in the business world of the future. With this longstanding
interest in business, I am very eager to begin engaging in advanced business studies. I believe that further study in
the UK is an important first step on the path to my career goals. I believe the UK is the ideal setting for refining my
expertise in Accounting and Management while also acquiring a broader, international viewpoint.

I majored in Accounting at Good University in [country], a school with a reputation for excellence in terms of its
business programs. Although the rigorous academic environment presented certain challenges, I achieved a great
deal and built a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. During my time at Good University, I developed my
analytical skills and learned to communicate with others effectively. I believe that my experience at this school has
prepared me well for the demands of studying in the UK. After graduating from GU, I continued my further studies in
Excellent Academys Language Training Center, where I have been honing my English skills in preparation for
studying in the UK.

I am currently studying in the Foundation programme at the University of England, where I have gained considerable
knowledge of fundamental business concepts. I have grown especially interested in the subject of Accounting, and I
hope to continue my education in the UK in this area. My time studying in the UK has thus far exceeded my
expectations. Every day I am here, I am inspired and motivated by the demanding and invigorating academic
environment, and I looking forward to pursuing masters level studies in such a setting.

I first developed an interest in studying in the UK when my family travelled to London when I was in high school. In
addition, I am attracted to the prestigious British education system, which produces global business leaders prepared
for future challenges. Growing up in [my country], where the effects of globalization and international business were
always apparent, I realised that it is important for me to possess strong English abilities in order to diversify my future
options and have a competitive advantage amongst my peers. Having lived in England for a period of time already, I

have begun to feel quite at home with the everyday life and culture, and it would be a true honour to continue my
education on to a higher level in this country.

In my view, acquiring knowledge of accounting and management will not only be extremely useful, but also personally
rewarding and enjoyable. It is a fascinating area of study and one that I will certainly be able to apply to my future
work. I am well-prepared to face the challenge of studying in your university, and I have the determination to realise
my goals and complete my studies successfully. Equipped with the specialist knowledge I will gain from your
universitys course, as well as the cross-cultural understanding that living in the UK provides me, I expect to be able
to progress smoothly into a career in the international business world when I graduate. As for my future plans, I hope
to acquire the expertise in business, and especially accounting, that will enable me to work as a professional in a
multinational company. I hope to develop the language skills, leadership and organizational abilities, cultural
understanding and professional expertise that will make me an effective and successful businessperson.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FINANCE AND INVESTMENT

As a child, I often accompanied my uncle to the stock market. Looking at the share index numbers on the large
overhead screen, I was fascinated with this world. As I grew up, I gradually came to appreciate the importance of
financial in the modern world. In the university, I was fortunate to have been exposed to many interesting and
challenging fields. Though I ultimately chose to major in Accounting, I also studied business, management,
economics, and finance. These courses impressed upon me the importance of the financial sector in the economy.
Finance professionals have the unique responsibility of managing assets and analyzing risks to ensure the future
success of a company or organization. It is difficult to overstate the importance of this role, as the financial crisis of
2009 showed. It is due to my understanding of the importance of finance and investment, coupled with my
longstanding interest for this subject, that I have decided to pursue postgraduate studies in finance at your prestigious
university.

Earning a masters degree in finance would ideally complement my undergraduate degree in accounting. My
background in accounting provides me with fundamental knowledge of many finance-related theories and concepts,
as well as familiarity with statistics and data analysis. I learned the basic tenets of finance in courses such as
Economics, Management, Accounting and Public Finance. Through case studies and lectures, I broadened my
understanding of economic principles while learning about management and its relationship to finance. This was
particularly fascinating at the time because the global financial crisis of 2009 was wrecking havoc on economies and
businesses around the world, and the theories that we learned were directly applicable to the current events in the
news. In the course Financial Quantitative Methods, I learned to use mathematical and statistical methods to properly
analyze financial instruments and financial markets. Due to my diligence and high scores in class, I was given the
award for Excellence in Academic Performance after my freshman year in the university. As my transcript shows, I
continued performing at this high level throughout my time in the university.

While in the university, I also sought part-time work to gain practical experience and financially support my education.
During summer and winter vacations, I worked as a sales assistant in Moneybags Bank, responsible for credit card
promotions and various internal affairs. I learned to communicate effectively with customers and I applied my
professional knowledge to earn their trust. I also gained familiarity with risk management, selecting different
investment tools as required by the customers individual proclivities. This job was rewarding and immensely
instructive, and it has solidified my resolve to devote my future career to the field of finance and investment.

I have chosen to pursue masters studies in the US because it is home to many of the leading financial professionals
and institutions in the world. The recent financial crisis has transformed the finance industry, and studying in the US is
ideal for grasping the changes that are currently taking place in this field. Specifically, the resources and expertise
available in your university will provide me with a broad and deep learning experience. I am eager to challenge myself
in such a setting and learn from renowned professors, while interacting with equally ambitious and motivated
classmates.

After earning my masters degree, I hope to work for an international investment bank such as Superbank or Giant
Investments Bank as a financial and investment professional. Equipped with the technical expertise and professional
skills learned in your university, I will be prepared for the challenges that I will encounter. In my career, I hope to not
only work to avoid future financial collapses, but also to help institutions use their resources to the greatest
advantage. I am confident that I am well-prepared to meet the demands of your program, and I greatly appreciate
your consideration.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE ECONOMICS

I am applying to your MSc Economics program for fall 20XX intake. With my background of academic and
professional experiences, I am confident that I have what it takes to stand out and excel in your program.
My interest in economics can be traced back to the influence of my grandfather, who has owned a shop since the
1940s. As a child, I often visited him and enjoyed helping in his shop. I saw how he decided what products to stock,
how he satisfied customers, and how he negotiated prices to remain competitive. When studying economics in
school, I was able to relate the concepts and theories I learned to their practical, real-life implications in my
grandfathers shop. As I ventured further into this field, I grew interested in how these concepts apply not only to
small or large firms but also to entire nations and the global economy. Later, majoring in Economics at Goodwell
University, I grew interested in how these concepts apply not only to small or large firms, but also to entire nations
and the global economy.
Upon graduating from the university, I joined a transport organization, where I was able to apply what I had learned
as an undergraduate. As a Trainer in the Shipping Division, I undertook various cost control measures to improve
productivity and ensured that the safety guidelines were met. In the process, I got hands-on experience and learned
about how a large-scale firm such as this manages its economic affairs. This has been a very instructive experience
for me, as I have learned to adapt to a professional environment and have seen that, through hard work, I am
capable of achieving any goal that I set for myself.
In my personal as well as professional affairs, I am driven by a belief in the importance of generosity and giving back
to ones community. I believe that the true meaning of life lies in giving happiness to others while following your own
ambitions at the same time. In keeping with this spirit, I have recently begun devoting my free time to volunteering in
the National Association of the Deaf, where I tutor students and work to raise awareness and funds. This experience
has also influenced my career goals, as I hope to venture into teaching and have a positive impact on young minds. I
am convinced that the subject of economics is relevant to virtually every aspect of peoples lives; this is evidenced by
the work of Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, who has proven that economists have the power to
affect meaningful change in their communities. I therefore view a profession in economics as a very meaningful and
inspiring career.
Although the education I have received thus far has been top notch, I am determined to study abroad for my masters
degree, for a number of reasons. The UK has a well-deserved reputation for excellence in terms of its advanced
academic programs, especially in economics, and it is an important leader in the global economy. It Is vital that I gain
international experience and familiarize myself with different cultures at this stage in my career, and the diverse
environment of your school is therefore ideal for me. Perhaps most importantly, I know that I need to challenge myself
if I am to continue progressing and reach my full potential in this field. I am therefore committed to joining your

challenging and renowned program, putting forth all of my effort to not only receive the best education possible but
also contribute to your dynamic and diverse academic environment.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

I have been immersed in the workplace for the past eight years at Goodwell Electronics, Inc., a rapidly growing OEM
company. Due to the demanding pace of my schedule, I used my annual vacation time to travel abroad. My travels
have given me a deeper understanding of the mindsets of people in different countries as well as the diverse cultural
customs and attitudes that exist in different parts of the world. Similarly, my supervisor at Goodwell Electronics
frequently traveled overseas in order to expand the companys business into new markets. I was impressed by his
international style of thinking and acting and his strong awareness of global business. My association with this
supervisor, as well as my previous travels, has inspired me to pursue a career with an international focus. In the
future, I aspire to hold a managerial role in a multinational business; achieving this goal, however, requires that I have
an international education and develop a more globalized viewpoint. Your MBA program is a key step in adequately
preparing for my future goals.

I developed academic and work experience concurrently, as I worked part-time throughout my time as an
undergraduate. While pursuing a diploma in Information Management at Goodness University in [my country], I
began working part-time at Goodwell Electronics as an Assistant in the Manufacturing Department, where I acquired
experience in data management and document archiving. Although this was an entry-level position, it was an
instructive opportunity and a valuable complement to my academic training.

After completion of my diploma in Information Management, I began studying for my Bachelors degree in Business
Administration at Goodness University. At the same time, I was promoted to the role of R&D Materials Procurement
Goodwell Electronics Engineering Department. This was an immensely valuable and enlightening experience, as it
corresponded directly with that which I was learning in the university. I was responsible for searching for and
procuring R&D materials, controlling the quality of products, and analyzing and controlling costs. While learning about
management, accounting, and other skills related to business administration in the classroom in the university, I was
unique among my classmates because I had the opportunity to both apply my acquired knowledge and
simultaneously develop practical skills and experience. As a result, during this period I developed my communication
and coordinating abilities, and I became familiar and confident with management functions.

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with overall grades that ranked me in the top of my
class. I attribute my excellent grades to my diligence and motivation in the university, and I feel that my work
experience played a significant role in my ability to master the concepts presented in the classroom. Despite my busy
schedule, I found time to participate in several sporting associations and competitions in the university. Furthermore,
in my senior year, I was elected team leader of a Product Design project that was arranged by the teacher of the
Product Design course. I was responsible for assigning coursework to different team members and collecting and
analyzing information. This role taught me to work systematically and helped strengthen my communication and
interpersonal skills.

After graduation, I remained in Goodwell Electronics, and I was promoted to the full-time position of Executive
Administrator in the Engineering Department. My responsibilities have increased steadily, and over the past five years
in this role I have had chances to utilize my previous education and working experience to further hone my skills and
operate as a professional administrator in this internationally-focused company. I have been in charge of meeting and
travel arrangements, as well as training new staff members and purchasing, tracking, and inspecting company

supplies. I have found this position to be as rewarding as it is challenging; most importantly, it has provided me with a
valuable foundation of knowledge in practically all aspects of business and administration. However, despite this
breadth of experience, I feel that it is necessary for me to pursue a masters degree in [your country] in order to
further broaden my horizons and expand my career potential in the international business arena.

After finishing the MBA program, I expect to have acquired substantial management and business administration
expertise. Running a successful company requires constantly improving quality on both the individual and business
levels. Goodwell Electronics, for example, is an OEM company, but they would like to develop their own brand and
pursue more ambitious opportunities. Doing this requires that they devote resources to branding and design
management, which requires professional management with a broad perspective. In the future, I hope to work as a
Project Manager, a role which demands excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills. If I am to
achieve this goal, I must continue to improve my knowledge and experience in analysis, teamwork, communication,
and organization. I feel strongly that the MBA program offered by your institution is ideal for developing these skills
and preparing me for a managerial role in a multinational company in the future.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE MANAGEMENT

In the age of globalization, it is crucial to have a broad and refined international outlook. The United Kingdom boasts
an excellent cultural atmosphere and highly developed commercial sector, as well as sophistication in the humanities
and areas of scientific and technological advancement. For these reasons, I hope to acquire management knowledge
in the UK and learn from reputable professors with outstanding research facilities. In such a setting, I will be
constantly exposed to skills and ideas that will enable me to develop into a management professional with virtually
unlimited potential.

I was inspired to pursue a career in management from a young age, witnessing the business activities of my father.
He is an entrepreneur in the electronics industry who is very business-minded and dedicated to his work. As a child, I
began to absorb many ideas and concepts related to business and management. After school, I often read books and
periodicals such as Business Week and Forbes, and it was clear even at that young age that I would work in
business in the future. My decision to pursue a masters degree is due to the fact that I recognize that my father is
limited by his qualifications; he only earned a high school degree, relying on his own diligence and perseverance to
succeed. I hope to be able to assist him and his company in the near future, and the professional management skills I
learn in your institution will allow me to achieve this goal.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Medical Sociology from Good University, where I attended many managementrelated courses, including Computer Science and Information Management, Introduction to Management,
International Relations, and Mass Communication. During my four years of training, I had a positive attitude and
developed good relationships with both classmates and teachers. Perhaps most importantly, during my time in the
university I cultivated the patience necessary to deal with people in need. For instance, in the course Social
Casework, I was involved in many cases which required considerable talking and communication skills. Because of
this, I grew patient and tolerant in demanding and frustrating situations. Apart from working to help people in need, we
also had opportunities for self-reflection and growth, such as when we had disagreements with those with whom we
lived. In these situations, it was important that I have patience and communicate clearly to mediate and resolve
conflicts. My work has provided me with valuable knowledge and experience that will be of great use in my future
management-related work, where such communication skills are vital to success.

In addition to my experience in the university, I further developed my skills as an Intern at GoodHealth General
Hospital, where I counseled patients, planned educational promotional activities, and engaged in administrative work.
I then worked in the Department of Social Service at Wellness Memorial Hospital, where I was involved with
community health promotion as well as planning, evaluating, and counseling. These were incredibly valuable
opportunities to learn about hospital management and obtain experience and knowledge that can not be learned
through books and classroom study alone.

Finally, I hope that in the near future, with the guidance of the experienced and learned professors in your institute, I
will have thoroughly cultivated my independent thinking and research capabilities. I eventually plan to work as a
professional manager in an international context, and I am convinced that by studying alongside the dedicated
professionals and students in your school, I will be able to engage in enlightening research and acquire a more
profound academic foundation.
