o Head - National Repository of Molecules (NRM) (April 2005 June 2011):

NRM is the centralized facility of CSIR focused on the building and cataloguing the
library of diversified compounds of small molecules along with research data. The main
objective of this central NRM facility is to establish a molecular repository of the
international standard to cater the needs of research laboratories and pharma industries

doing drug discovery research.

o Co-research Guide for Ph.D. (Pune University):
Thesis Title: Investigations of TiO2, ZnO and Metalloporphyrins Nanoparticles
inside the Mesoporous Silica MCM-41

We investigated the interaction of zinc tetra phenyl porphyrin and CdSe nanoparticles. It
was shown that the porphyrin nanoparticles and CdSe nanoparticles conjugate to each
other producing striking spectral changes in the fluorescence spectra.

Synthesis, Immobilization of Metalloporphyrin nanoparticles in mesoporous MCM-41

and its conjugates with inorganic salts and their applications in the photovoltaic.

Synthesis of various Porphyrins and Metalloporphyrins using 2+2 synthetic approach

with Zn, Fe, Co, Mn, Ni, as central metal atoms and converting them in to their Nano
particles using Host-Guest solvent technique at laboratory scale.

Successfully accomplished the project entitled Design, Synthesis, Immobilization and

Applications of potent Metalloporphyrins and Transition metal complexes funded by

under Pune University

Several esters of (+) cis DV acid with p-substituted benzyl and -RS-cyano p-substituted
benzyl alcohols and substituted phenols have been synthesized. Many of the above esters
have shown promising insecticidal activity.

Synthetic routes for some modified pyrethroids in which the conventional gem-dimethyl
groups at C2 position of cyclopropane is replaced by a functionalized Spiro fused cycloalkyl
ring.

Methyl esters with long chain substituent on cyclopropane were prepared from (+)-3-Carene
to study the effect of long chain substituent on miticidal activity.

1R cis Caronaldehyde, an important intermediate for photostable pyrethroids like

Deltamethrin, Cyahalothrin and NRDC 182 has been obtained from (+)-3-Carene.

Synthesis and biological evaluation of 1R trans and 1R cis chrysanthemate derivatives was
carried out, resulting into potent pyrethroids.
