Project Background

Altimetrik India Pvt Ltd. is a service based company and it provides

SAP services. SAP provides business operations and customer relations.
Sales Order is an order issued by a business to a customer. Sales
order may be for products and services. A sales order is an internal
document of the company, meaning it is generated by company. A sales
order is a contract between a customer and a sales organization for
supply of specific goods and /or services over a specified time period. All
relevant information from customer master record and material master
record is copied to sales order. Through SAP NetWeaver to create a sales
order we use transaction VA01.
I am converting the complete sales order creation process (VA01)
into SAP Web Dynpro. SAP Web Dynpro is a proprietary web application
technology developed by SAP AG that focuses on the development of
server-side business application. One of its main design features is that
the user interface is defined in an entirely declarative manner. SAP Web
Dynpro application can be developed using either JAVA (Web Dynpro for
JAVA) or ABAP (Web Dynpro ABAP) flavor. I am using Web Dynpro ABAP
to achieve this process.

Objectives
1. Provide an effective and easy way to use sales order creation
process through internet using browsers.
2. With this you dont have to install SAP NetWeaver.
3. It will have same screens and field which standard one having.
4. It will save in same tables where standard sales orders are saving.
5. It will more interactive than SAP NetWeaver sales order creation
process.

Scope of Work
The scope of project is to provide end-user:
1. Server-side web application to develop sales order.
2. Check the created sales order with given details.
3. User doesnt have to install SAP NetWeaver to create sales order.

Plan of Work
By Mid-Semester:
1. Completion of all the screens used for Sales order creation process.
2. Find all structures and tables used in sales order creation process.
3. Need to find all BAPI which will use to create sales order process.
By End-Semester:
1. Completion of coding part for sales order creation process.
2. Completion of testing for coding part and also backend part.
3. Need to compare with standard sales order creation process.

Remarks of the Supervisor

1. There is a reference to SAP Transaction Code. This is not
required.
2. The project background is written in first person. It has to be
written in a third person context.
3. Is there any literature or study done that can be referenced to
justify the need of this dissertation? This usually is highlighted
in the Project background.
4. Objective has writing like It will have this need to be
correctly elaborated.
5. What is the justification to have a more interactive process?
Again does back to why this dissertation?
6. In scope of work, except point 1, there other 2 points really
does not raise the critical reflection encompassing the entire
scope.
7. In plan of work, it does not clearly explain, whether design,
development etc. are involved?
8. In plan of work, point 2 and 3 are both research work and it
can be combined?
9. Lastly after testing it not clears how a comparison study would
be done between NetWeaver route and WebDyn Pro route? Is
there going to be any cost benefit analysis?
10. What is the conclusion that be arrived after completing the
dissertation?
