MODULE 1
Embarking on a Journey of Self-awareness
September 18, 2015

The class adviser, Ms. Precious Paglinawan, as the facilitator, led the 10-Ramos students in a
prayer to formally start the conduct of the Senior High School Career Guidance Program Module 1.
In order to let the students have an idea about the rationale of the program, they were asked to
attentively listen as the facilitator orients them on the DepED Order No.41 s.2015, otherwise known as
the Senior High School Career Guidance Program and Early Registration. Policy statements,
procedures, and the timeline were briefly discussed to give the students an overview of the entirety of the
aforementioned program.
After the short orientation, the first of the three CGP modules was introduced Module 1:
Embarking on a Journey of Self-awareness, which is all about the learners discovery of who they are in
terms of their likes, values, skills and interests. At the end of the session, three outputs are expected to be
delivered by the students: a) Self-portrait bag, b) Dream collage, and c) Journal Entry #1.
Upon knowing and understanding the given instructions, the students proceeded doing their tasks
at hand. First, is the self-portrait bag. Most, if not all, of them showed enthusiasm and great energy in
what they are doing. Sharing and helping were noticeable, too, which is good because not everyone, for
some reasons, were able to bring the necessary materials for the activities.
Students were also given the chance to show-and-tell their outputs in the Peer-sharing portion of
the session. As they share, students answered the questions: a) how does the outside part of my bag
show who I am? b) How do the objects I put inside my bag show who I am? c) How does my finished selfportrait bag show who I am?
The second activity is making a dream collage. Here, the students were to make a creative
compilation of pictures that would represent how they see themselves in the future. The remaining time
was consumed in this activity. Consequently, the Journal Entry #1 was given as an assignment which is to
be submitted on Monday, September 21, 2015.
In spite of the lack of time, it still is safe to say that the objectives in the first module were attained.
Students, through the different activities, acknowledged their talents, skills, interests and personality;
understood themselves by exploring who they are and what they are capable of. The session ended with
reminders from the facilitator, smiles on the faces of the students, and pieces of papers and stuff scattered
on the floor (scheduled cleaners did what they have to do).
Module 1 accomplished.
