Great job HBCP!

It is hard to believe that we are already in the month of May! The

school year has flown by so quickly, and HBCP has a lot to be proud of
this school year. Our scholars and staff have been working hard to
ensure that we are meeting our academic, attendance, and character
goals. One of the pillars we have instilled at HBCP is High
Expectations. It has been a part of our culture and philosophy on a
daily basis. On May 10, our scholars in grades 3rd-8th began a state test
called the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. This test is
aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English and Math,
which California adopted in 2010 to describe what knowledge and skills
scholars need to be well prepared for college and careers, no matter
where they come from or where they live.
During the weeks of May 9th-May 27th, our expectation is that all
scholars are present and on time. Its essential for our scholars to be at
school each day during our testing weeks. Our scholars have been
working hard to achieve not only on the state test, but also on their
curriculum assessments. We want to make sure they are present and
able to test with their classroom on the testing days. If they arrive late,
they will have to make-up the test in a separate room. We are a TEAM
(Together Everyone Achieves More), and we want our scholars to
perform their best. Lets make sure our scholars are present each day.
Without your support, we as a school would have a much more
difficult job.
