AbstractThe experiment is performed to introduce

familiarize the students with the lab equipment such as the
XXXX and XXXX. The transmission of signal over the
transmission line was observed and so are the reflected signals.
Index TermsTransmission Line, Reflected Signal

the amplitude of the reflected signal would be less than that

of the original signal; the amount of reduction on the
amplitude of the reflected signal depends on the magnitude
of the resistor. When the resistance was increased to 600 ,
the signal was fully absorbed by the said resistor and thus
causes no reflected signal.

I. OBJECTIVES
I.
II. PROCEDURE
The first part of the experiment is to realize the advised
connections of the equipment. A diagram was followed in
setting up the connections. The necessary configurations for
the generator and xxxx were also followed.
The next part of the experiment was the generation and
transmission of signals. Firstly, transmission of pulses was
done using the Step input to A and Step input to B
toggles were only a pulse was sent; Secondly, the Signal
Generator was connected to the transmission line and a
sinusoidal wave was then transmitted. The frequency and
amplitude of the said sinusoidal wave was varied according
to the prescribed procedure.

IV. SUMMARY
In this experiment, the behavior of signals in a
transmission line was observed.
It was observed that when the load at the end of a
transmission line is shorted with the use of a link, the sent
signal would be reflected fully back to the sender. However,
when the load at the end of the transmission line is resistive,

It was also observed that when the line length of the

transmission line was increased, the time it takes for the
signal to reach the other end of the transmission line also
increases in proportion to the length of the transmission line.
The window that displays the signal also displays more of
the waveform when the length is increased.
Another observation is that when the frequency of the
generator is increased, the number of visible waveforms in
the display window also varies accordingly. The amplitude
of the signal could also be varied on the generator's settings,
as well as the kind of waveform such as square wave and
saw tooth.
