Zone___ State,
Please send along with this form copies of recommendations from churches which will encourage
other churches to support your missionary work. There are chimches which will not allow a
visiting missionary to speak unless a church recommendation can be shown. Since it is Impos
sible for any one person to know all Christians in the world, this recommendation by a respon
sible New Testament church is a vital help in persuading others of your worthiness and the value
of your mission. Mission Services stands ready to help you inform HORIZONS readers about
your church recommendations. Since the church is sending you to the mission field (Acts 13:1-3)
and will help provide the necessary needs on the field, naturally the church should share the
credit in your missionary ministry. One of the ways that the church can do this is to share their
conviction regarding your missionary ministry with others. Certainly, their words will help
convince others regarding the worthiness of your work. Please help MISSION SERVICES to
spread your news through HORIZONS, Packets and Slide library by sending your church recom
mendations as soon as possible. Thanks. Send what you have now, and the others later.
Recommendations by Christia,n Leaders: (List names and addresses here and enclose a copy of
each letter, thanks.)

The home for children was begun in March of 1972 in the town of San
Miguel de Allende,Gto. The Clinton Looney family invited Pat Devore
to come there and begin a Home for children. In April, with the help of
Alicia Martinex, who was living with the Looneys at the time, the first
child came to live in the Home. Silvia had been left in the hospital and
was about to be sent to a children's Home in the town of Queretaro.
After visiting the hospital and and talking to the mother, she agreed to
give Silvia to Pat. During this time Pat had been living with the
Looneys. But with the help of a Christian lady in San Miguel a small
house was found to rent.
Pat was visiting in Celaya when a Doctor told her about a seven
month old boy who had been abandoned in the trunk of a car, and later,
because of an Infection in one arm, had to have it amputated. Pat
prayed about it and felt sure that God wanted her to have this boy. So,
in two days time they had two small babies, Alicia and Jonathan.
In November they moved back into the home of the Looneys, as the
Looneys were preparing to move back to the States.
The family did not grow any more until July of 1973. That is when
Marcos. Silvia's brother, came to live with them. Marcos was in very
bad health also. He had been left in a windowless room with only a door
and a kerosene two burner stove. The fumes had irritated his eyes so
much that he could not see. You could not see the pupils in the eyes.
With medicine, and prayer he began to get better, but he is still a little
behind. However he is growing and enjoys eating very much.
