Storage

The crude palm oil extraction starts from press unit. Pressed crude oil
passes through the vibrating sieve to apart from fibres and is gathered in
crude oil tank conditioned with heating equipment. To desand process,
crude oil treat via desander and is stored the last stop before decanter.
The Decanter separates into two phase ; liquid phase (palm oil) and solid
phase (cake). Then, the palm oil is purified from residuals via separator
and is ready to store.

DDI decanters are robust and durable thanks to its material features. The bowl, conveyor, casing, inlet tube,
outlets and other parts in contact with the process media are all made of stainless steel.
Complete range of DDI decanters features a user friendly, compact design with all wet parts made of wearresistant materials. DDI decanters provide continuous and trouble-free operation and flexible process control.

Flexibility
Thanks to the Dual Drive design and user friendly PLC interphase, DDI decanter allows its users to have
a full control over the process and gives many options to adjust the decanter settings. The DDI decanter
centrifuge can be adjusted for maximum performance by:
Varying the bowl speed and providing the necessary G force.
Varying the conveyor speed
Varying the pond depth in the bowl for the best oil clarity and the least oil content in the cake.

Design & Working Principle


A decanter centrifuge is a separation machine which consists of a bowl, a screw conveyor located inside the
bowl, a gearbox and a drive group providing the rotation of both the bowl and the conveyor and finally a
solid frame which is designed to carry all these components in a compact and robust arrangement.

As the feed enters the bowl through a feed pipe, it is accelerated due to the rotation of the bowl. Centrifugal
forces cause the sedimentation of the solid phase on the wall of the bowl. These sediments accumulated
on the bowls wall need to be moved towards the conical end of the bowl for further compaction and
dewatering. The screw conveyor located at the center of the bowl provides this movement as it rotates in
the same direction as the bowl but at a slightly different speed. Thanks to the differential speed, the screw
conveyor scrapes off the accumulated solid towards the conical end. The liquid phase flows and discharged
from liquid discharge chute.

Design & Working Principle


Self-Cleaning Centrifugal Separator is comprised of three main groups:
a high speed bowl in which the mechanical separation occurs,
a drive group that provides the required G-Force to maintain optimum separation process,
a solid frame structure to embed the rotational accessory.
Centrifugal Separator continuously separates the fed product into three phases, i.e. subdivisions, being waste
water, purified PALM OIL and cake by taking advantage of excessive G-Force generated in the bowl volume.
The heart of the mechanical separation basis can be summarized as accelerating the natural phenomena of
decantation arising from the specific density difference between liquids which hold exact volume fractions
in a suspension (or cake). The disk stack takes place at this point, maximizing the surface area where heavy
PALM OIL and residuals are separated. Purified PALM OIL then discharged under pressure from bowl volume.
