One day at the morning at the simple house that contains 3 family members, theres
sounding persistent coughs. It turn out that sound from patriarch on that family.
Patient

: Uhuk..Uhuk, .. (grab his chest)

Patients wife : whats wrong dad?

Patient

: uhuk.. it hurts.. uhuk my chest mom

Patients wife

: We have to go to the doctor right now, youre cough is still not healed..

Suddenly fathers have spotted a blood in his hands.

Patients wife

: Oh my god.. why theres a blood in your hands.. Quickly we have to go

to hospital !

Finally her wife took him to IGD RSUP NTB.. In there, patient has diagnosed Pulmonary
Tuberculosis and hospitalization at Bougenville room. In the Bougenville room theres a nurse
doing anamnese.
Nurse 1

: Good afternoon, Let me introduce my self, my name is Liana. I am the

nurse that job in this afternoon. To fill up the data on your status.. I will
take many question for you like your identity and hows your feeling right
now.. Are you willing sir?

Patient

: Its ok miss, but you can ask to my wife because I wanted to take a
rest.

Nurse 1

: All right.. Excuse me would you like to tell me the full name of your
husband?

Patients wife

: Ahmad Jumadin

: How old is he? Where do you live? And what hes job?

: 50 years old, at Dasan Tereng Village, Narmada, hes job as driver

:Can you tell me how is Mr. Ahmad has taken to hospital ?

: Actually, my husband had got cough its about 4 month. First, its just
ordinary cough. But 2 weeks ago his cough get severe, more over in the
morning.. and this morning suddenly his cough spulttering blood and I
bringed him to this Hospital. Doctor said my husband diagnosed get
Pulomonary Tuberculosis.

Nurse 1

: Is your husband is smoking?

Patients wife

: Yes it is..

Nurse 1

: Is there is in your family have a same sicknes just like Mr. Ahmad
do??

Patients wife

: I dont know.. because there is no one in my family got sick that made
us hospitalized.

Nurse 1

: Ooo.. is there any other complaint Ms..?

Patients wife

: Hmm.. when he got cough.. my husband is rarely to eat and feel sick

Nurse 1

: All right.. First ill check the blood pressure your husband

Patients wife

: Okay

(The nurse doing an exam)

suggest your husband eating little but often.. to make his body not to limb.

injection for Mr. Ahmad and also give conseling for Mr. Ahmad Family about universal
precaution to prevent from infection.

: Excuse me, good evening Mr. Ahmad

: My name is nurse Zahira,, I have been instructioned from nurse Liana to

give you medicine that make your sickness and bloody cough healed. And
also give conseling for Mr. Ahmad Family about universal precaution to
prevent from infection.

Patients son

: Ookee.. My name is Roni.. I am Mr. Ahmad son.. Hows my father

condition?

Nurse 2

: Your father is fine.. but he must get intensive care right now.. because
his sickness is seriously danger

Patients son

: Ooo.. is that medicine will be given by injection?? (pointing spuit

that fill up with medicine)

Nurse 2

: yess this medicine will be given across infus hose.. thats make not
feel hurt.. Are you willing sir??

Patient

: Yes.. Please do it

And then Mr. Ahmad get medicine from nurse..

: Its done.. And now I will give consoling to Mr. Ahmad, Ms. Sukinem
and Roni about Universal Precaution.

Patients son

: What is Universal Precaution?

Nurse 2

: First of all.. I will tell you about Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Pulmonary

Tuberculosis is spread through the air from one person to another. The
Pulmonary Tuberculosis bacteria are put into the air when a person with
active Pulmonary Tuberculosis disease of the lungs or throat coughs,
sneezes, speaks, or sings. People nearby may breathe in these bacteria and
become infected. But, Pulmonary Tuberculosis is not spread by sharing
food or drink, touching bed linens or toilet seats, sharing toothbrushes, and
kissing. Its because Ms. And Roni lived in one house.. so the risk to get
infection is big. So I suggest Ms. And Roni to medical checkup to
clarification that you got Pulmonary Tuberculosis or not.

Patients son

: Oh My god.. so we easily get infection.. Im so afraid mom.. lets check

up..

Patients wife

: We have to check up tomorrow son.. Where we can do check up

nurse..?
Nurse 2

: You can direcly go to Lungs Poly on the first floor.

Patients son

: How to prevent it from this sickness?

Nurse 2

: To prevent from the infection.. first you can use a mask, even patient or
the family, but the mask must single use only. And then, if Mr. Ahmad

wanted to cough you have to close your mouth and go to another direction.
More importantly, Bacteria Pulmonary Tuberculosis can gone after hit
direct sunlight. So I recommended you at the morning you have to open
the curtain to make the sunlight go into this room.. Is there any question?
Patients son

: If my fathers cough,, where did i throw his sputum??

Nurse 2

: To prevent from the infection.. Mr. Ahmad have his own place to get
rid off his sputum.. like a plastic bag that fill with sand or ground. Did you
understand? Or is there any question?

Patients son

: Nothing nurse,, tomorrow I will make a place for my fathers sputum

: Thats great if you understand.. Mr. Ahmad must take a rest soo excuse
me.. Good evening.

: Good morning,, is that you Mr. Ahmad?

Patient

: Yes its me

: I am the nurse that doing a job in this morning.. My name is

____________ I was assigned to take the sample of your blood to make
sure your condition right now.. its about 10 minutes i give the injection..
you have to endure it sir.. Are you willing sir?

: Allright

(The nurse taking the blood sample)

: I finish taking your blood sample.. hows do your fell right now? Its
still hurt?

: nope.. its gone

: The result will cleared its about 1 hour.. the doctor will give you the
explanation about the result.. Excuse mee..

: Your welcome.. Good morning..

After few hours the result finished and has been sent into Bougenville,, After that the doctor is
come and wanted to check the patient accompanied with nurse..
Dr. Yan

: Good morning Mam, Sir..

Patients wife

: Morning doc

Dr. Yan

: Im so sorry for being late.. I have been confirmed about your

condition,, right now are you felling sick, limb, and bloody cough sir?

Patient

: Yes doc.

Dr. Yan

: Okay,, I will check first...

(checkup the pasien)

: Mmmm, okay.. nurse.. where is the lab result of Mr. Ahmad?

Nurse 3

: here it is.

Dr. Yan

: listen Mam.. Mr. Ahmad HB is low.. and the leukosit is high,, there a
lot of sputum in Mr. Ahmad so we must doing an intensife care again.. I
suggest that Mr. Ahmad must eat properly to make his body not limb..
Now I will recipe the medicine and the antiPT, cure sickness, and
vitamin

The nurse then go to Mr. Ahmads room and ask his family to redeem the prescription to make
Mr. Ahmad get better. Mr. Ahmads son immediately get the drug at Hospital pharmacy.
