Warm-up
The teacher asks the students if there are any absentees
and notes them. Then, the teacher asks about the
homework and checks it together with the students.
Afterwards, the teacher asks the students about their
leisure activities.
Link between warm-up and presentation
Name of the activity: What do you usually do in your
spare time?
The teacher asks the students about their leisure
activities trying to guide them towards sports. Then, the
students are asked what other sports they know and the
teacher asks the students to mention some of the rules
equipments implied in each activity.
e.g. T: What do you usually do in your spare time?
S: I usually ride a bike/ read a book/ go at a restaurant/
play football etc.
T: You mentioned playing football. Can you tell me the
rules for this sport? How many players are on the pitch?
S: Yes. There are two teams of eleven players. They try
to score as many goals as possible. The team which
scores more goals wins.
T: What other sports do you know?
S: Tennis, volleyball, basketball etc
Presentation
The teacher asks the students to open their books at page
70 and to pay attention while she does the model reading
of the text. Afterwards, the teacher names some students
to read the text. Then, she asks whether there are in the
text unknown words. The words are explained and noted
on the blackboard with their Romanian equivalents.
Practice 1
The teacher checks the understanding of the text solving
exercise 2, page 71.

Presentation 2
The teacher asks the students to read the vocabulary
related to sports and activities at page 72. The teacher
writes on the blackboard the sports whose names are
different from Romanian.
Diving, rollerblading, skating, rollerskating, waterskiing, sailing, horse riding, windsurfing, climbing.
Practice 2
Then, she plays them a presentation with images related
to sports. The have to identify the sports and relate them
to what they have read.
e.g. T: What sport/ activity is presented in this picture?
S: Its diving/tennis/volleyball etc.
