JOB SATISFACTION OF EMPLOYEES AT


BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICAL LIMITED CORPORATE OFFICE NEW DELHI

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
Job satisfaction plays an important role in improving the financial standing of organizations.
Dissatisfaction amongst higher-level employees will most likely reflect on lower-level
employees thus resulting in economic, financial and morale problems which indicate that a
positive relationship between job satisfaction and job level to business organizations. The
company recognizes the need for improvement. Employee satisfaction survey is designed to
measure organizational present satisfaction level for various parameters. It also helps to analyze
success of various HR activities as satisfaction is direct result of these activities. The result of
employee satisfaction survey shows the strong and weak areas in overall atmosphere in
organization.

COMPANY PROFILE
BHEL is an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer and one of the largest engineering
and manufacturing company of its kind in India engaged in the design, engineering, manufacture,
construction, testing, commissioning and servicing of a wide range of products and services for
the core sectors of the economy, viz. Power, Transmission, Industry, Transportation (Railway),
Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas and Defence with over 180 products offerings to meet the needs
of these sectors. Establishment of BHEL in 1964 was a breakthrough for upsurge in India's
Heavy Electrical Equipment industry. Consistent performance in a highly competitive
environment enabled BHEL attain the coveted 'Maharatna' status in 2013.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The objective of the study is to find out the satisfaction level of employee in BHEL.

To determine the level of job satisfaction reported by employees

To analyze the companys working environment.

To Identify the factors that motivates the employees.

To Study the attitude of the employees towards their work.

To study the employees perception towards organization.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The research study will be conducted on personal interview of the employees of the organization,
who are working more than 2 years, as well as a questionnaire used to be collected various
information related with job satisfaction and morale, and observation method will be used in
various sensitive issues to know the actual behavioral aspects of employee.

The data will be collected using both by primary data collection methods as well as
secondary sources. The size of the representative sample is 50 only.

Primary data collected through questionnaires and interviews.

Questionnaire: A questionnaire consists of a set of questions presented to respondents for


their answers. Because of its flexibility, the questionnaire is by far the most common
instrument used to collect primary data. Questionnaires need to be carefully developed,
tested, and debugged before they are administered on a large scale.

Secondary data collected through magazines, websites, reference books, brochures,


previous records.

STASTICAL TOOL
The statistical tools used for analyzing the data collected are percentage method, bar diagrams
and pie chart.
AREAS TO BE COVERED
The sample size is taken from 50 respondents of middle level management of corporate
office .The information was obtained from HR, Law, Marketing and Finance Department.
