Sign on to Stellenbosch Universitys website and click on English or Afrikaans (Fig 1).

Once you have signed into Oracle Self Help click on SUN Employee Self Service under the Navigator
Menu (Fig 5).

The SUN Employee Self Service Menu will open (Fig 6). Click on Learner Home under the Self
Service: Learning menu (Fig 6).

The Oracle Learning Management Home Page will be displayed (Fig 7). On this page, you can view
the Current Courses that you are enrolled for (Click on Current Learning top left), the courses you
have enrolled for that have not yet been Approved by your Line manager (Click on Requested
Learning next to Current Learning) and view your Learning History (Click on the Learning History
Tab top right).
Announcements
Under the Announcement Menu you can see if you have any Workflow Notifications (whether your
application to enrol for a course has been approved or not) or if there are any new courses available.
Browse Catalog
Under the Browse Catalog Menu, Click on a Catalog (eg. Human Recourses or Information
Technology) to view which courses are available under the Catalog (Fig 8).

Enroll in a Course
To enrol for a course, click on the Catalog under Browse Catalog (Fig 7). The courses under the
Catalog will be displayed (Fig 8). Click on the course you want to enrol for.

The course details will be displayed (Fig 9), eg. Objectives, Description etc. If you have read through
the details of the course click on the Offerings (Fig 9).

The Offering page will be displayed (Fig 10). On this page you will be able to see logistical details on
the course, eg. location, venue, the date and start time of the course etc. Also if there are any Course
Prerequisites and the language in which the course is being offered.
Once you are satisfied with the Offerings click on the Class Name (Fig 10).

The details for the specific class will be displayed (Fig 11). On this page you can enroll for the Class.
If there are any Course Prerequisites and you do not comply with the Prerequisites you will not be able
to enroll for the class. The Course Prerequisites can be seen on this page (Fig 11).
To enrol for this Class click the

The Enrollment page will be displayed (Fig 12). Before you can enroll for the class you have to
complete your Dietary Requirements (None, Vegetarian, Hallaal etc.).This is a compulsory field. You
can also complete the Enrollment Justification field (Fig 12). Click on the
Enrollment Justification values (Fig 13).

Select the appropriate Enrolment Justification and click the Select button (Fig 13), eg. click the radio
button
under the Select column and then click the Select button, or click the Quick Select button

When you are satisfied and want to carry on with the enrollment, click the

On this page you can review the course you want to enroll for and who will approve the enrollment. If
you want to change any data like Dietary Requirements or Enrollment Justification or decide not to
contiue with the enrollment click the

A Confirmation will be displayed that you have enrolled for the course and that your request has been
submitted for manager approval. Under the Announcements menu it will show that you have one new
notification (Fig 16).
You can monitor the request by clicking on the Requested Learning Header (Fig 17).

The Requested Learning page will be displayed. Note that the Status is Request: awaiting
confirmation (Fig 17). The status will only change when your Line Manager has approved the
request.
Once your Line Manager has approved the request, the request will move from the Requested
Learning page to the Current Learning page (Fig 18 - Oracle Learning Management Home Page).
