17 Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to:

1. expound the definition of Islamic ` Aqidah
and its related meanings.
2. highlight the fundamentals of Islamic
Aqidah.
3. relate and internalize the tawhidic teaching in
Muslim life, individual and societal.
4. discuss the challenges confronted by Muslim
from within and without
At the end of this course, students are expected to

21 Course Synopsis

This course deals with the basic foundation of the

Islamic aqidah within the context of a holistic view
of the universe, from the perspective of tawhd. The
course also stresses on the sources of aqidah and
its objectives. Within this framework, students are
expected to learn the methodology of reasoning in
dealing with issues concerning aqidah. This course
also aims at guiding students to grasp certain
religious key-concepts such as dn, mn, ihsn,
firah, truth, ikhtiyr and amnah.

the fundamental concepts and principles in Usul al-Dn and
Comparative Religion.

the study of philosophy, Islamic thought, civilizations, ideologies
