DatabaseStatistics:
Thedatabasestatisticsareusedbythesystemtooptimizethequeryperformance.Youshouldkeepthedatabase
statisticsuptodateforthisreason.Itisrecommendedthatyoualwaysupdatethestatisticsifyouhaveloadedmore
thanamillionnewrecordsintotheInfoCubesincethelastupdate.Itisrecommendedtousetheprocesstypewithin
processchainstobuildupstatisticsontheInfocubetables.
Youcanautomaticallyrecalculatethedatabasestatisticsaftereachloadoraftereachdeltaupload.Usingthe
pushbuttonCheckStatisticsunderPerformancetab,youcanchecktheInfoCubetoseeifstatisticsexist.Ifnostatistics
existyet,thestatusdisplaychangestored.UsingRecalculateStatistics,youcanaddthemissingInfoCubestatisticsin
thebackground.
YoucandeterminethepercentageofInfoCubedatathatisusedtocreatethestatistics.Thepercentageissetto10%
bydefault.ThelargertheInfoCube,thesmalleryoushouldchoosethepercentage,sincethedemandonthesystem
forcreatingthestatisticsincreaseswiththechangeinsize.
Forupto10millionentriesintheInfoCube,youshouldsetthepercentageofInfoCubedata,thatisusedforcreating
thestatistics,to100%.
Automaticdeletionandbuildingofindexes,aswellasautomaticcalculationofdatabasestatisticscancauseconflicts
withautomaticcompressionandrollup.Theseprocesseslockoneanother.

3)Calculategooddatabasestatistics:
ForOracledatabases,runtheBRCONNECTscripttocalculategooddatabasestatistics.UseTx.DB14toviewthe
resultofthebatchjob.Ifthejobabortsorrunstoolong,doubleclickonthelinetoreviewthejoblog.

UsetransactionRSRV(andRSRVALT)onaregularbasistocheckInfocubes.Mostimportantlytagdatabase.
OptionsDBstatisticsofaninfocubeanditsaggregatestocheckthehealthofanInfocube.

TheSAPStatisticsCubes(technicalContent)isatooltoevaluateperformancekeyfiguresofqueries,aggregateand
rollupprocessesindetail.TheSAPstatisticscanbeturnedonandoffforspecificInfoProvidersintheAdministrator
