MATERIALS:

1 worksheet for each participant.

TIME:

PROCEDURES.

Gather all participants at an open space.


Distribute the worksheets one participant one worksheet.
Tell them to mingle around and talk to as many people as possible
Find the person who answers yes to all the questions on the worksheet and jot
down their name(s).
5. After 15 minutes, stop the activity and ask participants to gather again.
6. Run a random check on the names written on participants list to make sure the
information is correct.
7. Also ask whether the questions were asked in English.

Cut each picture into 10 jigsaw pieces.
Jumble up the jigsaw.
Give each participant a piece of jigsaw.
Ask the participants to find friends who have the jigsaw from the same picture
Ask them to complete the jigsaw puzzle
Tell them that they have formed a group according to the picture they have.
Ask them to come out with a good name for their group.
Tell them to stick to the group until the end of the camp.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To ask questions to get information.
2. To get to know their group members
3. To introduce their new group members to other people
TIME:

30 minutes

MATERIALS:

A worksheet containing 10 boxes for each group to fill up


particulars about their group members (A4 size).

PROCEDURES.
1. Ask the participants to sit in their groups and bring along a pen. Then, distribute
the worksheets.
2. Ask them to talk to one another and get the personal details of their other group
members.
3. Write down the information in the boxes in the worksheet.
4. Call a group representative at random to introduce their group members.

To enhance students acquisition of verb tense.

MATERIALS:

A worksheet containing 2 columns.

PROCEDURES.

At a blow of a whistle all members of group 1 will go to Station 1


Facilitators at Station 1 will distribute the worksheets to every students
Facilitators will explain the task.
Every student will have to give the Past Tense of the verbs given on the
worksheet.
Every worksheet contains 10 different verbs and it carries 10 marks for the group.
Students are encouraged to work as a group to obtain maximum 100 marks for the
group.
10 minutes is given to the group to complete the task.
When the time allocated ends, facilitators will quickly mark the worksheets
and direct the group to the next station.

Facilitators brief the students what they have to do.

Students are given 10 minutes to complete the task.
Again they are told to help each other to get maximum marks.
At the end of 10 minutes facilitators stop the activity and mark the worksheets.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To test students ability to detect right and wrong agreement.

TIME:

10 minutes

MATERIALS:

10 worksheets containing 10 different lists of sentences ( 5 correct


5 wrong agreement).

PROCEDURES.
1. When the group arrives at the station, distribute the worksheets. Each group member
will receive a different list.
2. Ask them to put a tick (_/) on statement that has correct subject-verb agreement and a
cross (X)on the wrong one.
3. Hire helpers to check the worksheets and award marks.
4. Then, direct the students to the next station.

PRESENT, PAST AND FUTURE TIME

OBJECTIVES:

To test students understanding of the concept of


present, past and future.

TIME:

30 minutes

MATERIALS:

10 pieces of Mahjong Paper, marker pen, glue, scissors

PROCEDURES.
1. Give each group a piece of mahjong paper
2. Ask them to divide/draw 30 boxes on the paper just like a page of a calendar.
3. If the camp is held in April, then the page that they are doing is for the
month of April. Ask them to mark/ highlight the day of the camp in the
calendar.
4. Ask them to fill each box with a sentence using the correct form of verb.
5. The sentences for any box before the day of the camp should be in Past
Tense, while sentences describing the day of the camp should be using
Present Tense.
6. Similarly, those sentences after the day of the camp should be using Future
Tense.
7. Variation: Before they start writing ask them to cut pictures from
newspaper/magazine and paste them in the boxes. Then they write a sentence
about the picture.
