Title:

China Build 6C Coolpac Product Fuel Pump Issue

Please find a list of affected GSNs and ESNs attached.

Background/Description:
We have observed a failure mode in the fuel pump on 6CTAA8.3G7 & 6CTAA8.3G9 engines
which can, in certain circumstances lead to an over speed condition and complete engine
failure. To add an air shut off valve, the engine can be stopped in case of the fuel pump
failure.

2. Disassemble old air inlet

Loose the screw and remove all the parts as the photo shows

3. Install the valve

3.1. Put the gasket on the flange, then install the new elbow and hose.

3.2. Install the valve with bracket. Caution: don NOT tighten the screws before finish this
step

3.3 Tighten all the screws applied torque of 24Nm

4. Install the ss tube

4.1 Assemble the parts like the photo before installation

4.2 Then install the assembly part in the line and tighten all the clamps
