-Introduce the Theme of the lesson to the Ss tell them


that this lesson is about vague responses and vague
expressions, then ask Ss What kinds of things do people
do at fiestas and festivals? Have Ss write on the board
a list. Then Have them Listen what happens during the
fiesta, after that have Ss practice the conversation in
pairs, role playing and switching roles, monitor Ss to
listen their pronunciation and correcting their structure
and fluency, then have them circle or underline the
words they have questions or doubts with, as An
activity Ss will Brainstorm what already know about the
vocabulary term, have them work in pairs to share what
the ideas of the new words are, at the end explain them
what the real meaning is and see if what they
brainstormed is correct or is close to the meaning.
- Explain that Vague Expressions are very common in
spoken English, especially in informal conversations,
people use them when they expect the other person in
a conversation to understand what they mean.

conversations, have them find out what do they mean
and choose two ideas for each one.
-Have Ss to work in Pairs and ask and answer the
questions in the exercise 1D giving their own responses.
Explain Ss that people use I dont know, Im not sure,
Maybe, It Depends, as vague responses. People us this
responses when they are not sure of the answer or if
they want to hear more information before they decide
on a yes or no answer.
-Have Ss to match each question with two responses
and after that have them practice with a partner
