1.5

QUALITY ASSURANCE.
To ensure quality, conformance, and reliability with regard to the
manufacturing and production of the machinery described in this section,
the equipment manufacturer shall meet the requirements listed in this
section:

1.5.1

Manufacturer shall have established an ISO 9001 certified quality

management system.

1.5.2

Manufacturer shall have established an ISO 14001 certified environmental

protection management system.

1.5.3

Manufacturer shall have at least 5 references of similar type installed and in

successful operation. Each of the references shall meet or exceed the
design and operating-conditions as specified herein

1.5.4

Launder channel(s) shall be Manufacturers standard product and only

modified as necessary to comply with the drawings, specifications, and
specified service conditions.

1.5.5

All welding is performed in accordance with American Welding Society

(AWS) D1.1 Structural Welding Code, or equivalent.

1.5.6

All components in contact with the medium shall be made from stainless
steel AISI316L or equal material and pickled in an acid bath. All stainless
steel components and structures shall be submersed in a chemical bath of
nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid (pickling bath) to remove any residues that
may be present on the material as a result of forming, manufacture, or
handling. After removal from the pickling bath, the equipment must be
washed with a high-pressure wash of cold water to remove any remaining
surface debris and promote the formation of an oxidized passive layer which
is critical to the long life of the stainless steel. The complete plant shall
develop and produce in compliance with the ISO 9001 Standards.

with recognized and acceptable engineering and shop practice. Individual
parts shall be manufactured to standard sizes and thicknesses so that
repair parts can be installed in the field. Like parts of duplicate units shall be
interchangeable. Equipment shall not have been in service prior to delivery,
except as required by testing.

1.5.8

Each screen shall have the manufacturers name, address and product
identification on a nameplate securely affixed to the equipment

1.6

DELlVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

1.6.1

Deliver, in accordance with the General Requirements and as directed by

LAS EMPRESAS, all products and materials to the site designated by LAS
EMPRESAS. Off-load the equipment.

1.6.2

All equipment shall be skid mounted or crated and delivered to protect

against damage during shipment. All parts shall be properly protected so
that no damage or deterioration will occur during a prolonged delay from the
time of shipment until installation is completed, and the units and equipment
are ready for operation.

PART 2

PRODUCTS
