the Village Parks of the historic Village of Greenwich for a Craft
Fair. The weekend is full of free live music, great food, community
events and games and demonstrations, animal exhibits, family
carnival & games, free horse & wagon rides and more. We are
seeking craftspeople & vendors of homemade items. Based on
past years we expect over 4000 to attend the Whipple City Festival
during the weekend. A discounted fee is available through mid
May. This is an outdoor show rain or shine. Fee changes to $85

GREENWICH TOWN WIDE GARAGE SALE WEEKEND
The Town & Village wide garage sales weekend in Greenwich and
the surrounding area is planned for the weekend of May 22 &
23rd, 2010. This is a self guided event. There is no map produced
showing the locations of garage or lawn sales. People are encouraged
to put up signs to indicate they are holding a sale.
THE CHAMBER MUSIC AT THE COURTHOUSE series
continues on Sunday, May 16 and June 13 at 3 pm. During the
May concert, Mr. Shulman and Ms. Washiyama will be joined by
cellist, Jonah Thomas who is a recent graduate of Juilliard School
of Music and has participated in chamber music presentations
both here and abroad. The offering in May will feature longer
pieces composed by Mozart, Brahms and Schubert. Mr. Shulman
said “the intangible qualities that this music contains takes us to
places we otherwise might not get to”. Tickets for the remaining
two concerts are $20 each and may be obtained from the CCC.

TALENT ON DISPLAY IN SALEM AGAIN. On Saturday,
June 5th at 7 pm, the seventh annual Courthouse Talent Trails
will be held at the Fort Salem Theater on East Broadway in Salem.
This entertaining presentation which has become a nice tradition in
Salem, will benefit the Courthouse Community Center. A great
array of featured acts will include rock bands, bagpipes, musicians,
dancers and many original songs from singer-songwriters. Selected
performers in three categories – youth, teen and adult – will be
given an artistic scholarship to study with acclaimed artistic director
Jay Kerr, whose professional resume includes extensive Broadway
experience. The selected performers will be featured in the Fort
Salem Cabaret in August. Co-Producer Dan Garfinkel will emcee
the evening with his usual wit and charm. The finalists from last
year’s performance will be on hand once again to entertain the
audience. There will be a flower sale, food concession and 50/50
raffle which are all ways to show your support for the CCC.
Tickets are currently available at the CCC and will be sold at the
door. Please come out for an evening of variety and enjoyment.

There will be a spaghetti dinner at the Middle Falls Firehouse May 22

NEW SKETE AT BALLOON FESTIVAL The Monastic
Communities of New Skete and the Parish will once again have
Open House during the Cambridge Balloon Festival on Saturday,
June 5. The Monks’ grounds, churches, and gift shop will be
open from 10 to 4, along with the Parishioners’ bake sale and bag
lunches with beverages. New this year is a presentation from 9 to
12 in the monastery woods by Jack Phillips, Registered Consulting
Arborist, on “Planting Native Trees: Lessons from the Woods.”
Church tours will be given at 11 and 1, puppy socialization from
1:30 to 2, and a dog training demonstration from 2:30 to 3. The
Nuns’ gift shop will be open from 10 to 4, and a tour of the
cheesecake bakery will be given from 1 to 1:30. At Emmaus House,
