THE WARRENTON PONY SHOW

The Oldest Pony Show in America
Our 97th Year
Dear Exhibitors and Friends,
Welcome to our show!
The 97th Annual Warrenton Pony Show will be held June 29th through July 3rd at
the Warrenton Horse Show Grounds in Warrenton, Virginia. The Show is, as always, held to
benefit a local charity. Again this year, we have chosen the Fauquier County S.P.C.A. We
will make a special presentation to the shelter during the show.
The Warrenton Pony Show is the oldest Pony Show in America and is the only
recognized show run by juniors eighteen years of age and younger. Our committee operates
under the supervision of the Warrenton Pony Show, Inc. Board of Directorsa group of
local adult volunteers. The knowledge and practical experience we gain from producing
this five-day A rated show are valuable in many ways and help instill the importance of
responsibility and community service.
In 1999, the Board of Directors started a scholarship fund in memory of Puller
Hughes, a long time friend and advisor of the Pony Show. This fund has allowed the Board
to award college scholarships to deserving members of the Junior Committee.
This year, we are having our third annual $2,500 Pony Hunter Classic, graciously sponsored by Country Chevrolet. The class will be held on Saturday evening under the lights,
including a reception. And new this year, the show will host the VHSA/EMO Pony Medal
Equitation Finals. Riders have been working all year to qualify for this prestigious final to
be held Friday evening, and it will also include a reception, sponsored by Fauquier Bank.
Another exciting new class featured in the 96th edition of the show is the Pony Hunt Teams
class. It will be run in the style made famous by the Devon Horse Show and include a
reception sponsored by Sign Farm. Tailgate spots are available for each event.
We would like to extend a very special thank you to all of our faithful sponsors and
supporters who have kept the spirit and tradition of this show alive over the years.
Sincerely,
The Warrenton Pony Show Junior Committee
Please patronize our advertisers and thank them for supporting The Warrenton Pony Show
