Dear Kansas City International Trade ColleagueHappy Summer!

The summer calendar at the World Trade Center - Kansas City is in full swing
with a full calendar and team!
We kicked off the season with a fantastic visit from our dear friends at CITCA, the Chicago
International Trade Commissioners Association, some of whom havent had the pleasure of
visiting our fair city during their tenure in the windy city. We had the pleasure of showing off our
business community and our gorgeous downtown area. We cant wait for them to come back!
The WTC-KC also has a few more special visitors this summer and we have the fantastic honor of
hosting four interns who are bright, motivated, and talented in their own unique way. Please join
me in welcoming Paige Widrig, Reece Johnson, Sam Schumacher and Shea Radel to the WTCKC team! They are joining us this summer as we continue to move forward with the
implementation phase of our #GoGlobalKC export plan, and are providing incredible
organizational support in a multitude of areas.
In addition to our fantastic interns, we are thrilled to welcome two new WTC-KC partners joining
our investor board: MIQ Logistics and Hancock International Corporation. The team at WTCKC looks forward to collaborating and partnering with these two fantastic companies this year!
The month of July will bring us a special guest from Washington D.C.: Mr. David Hamod, CEO of
the U.S. National Arab Chamber of Commerce, will be joining us for a lunch & learn presentation
on the international bi-lateral trade opportunities between the U.S. and nations in the Arab world.
Please join us for lunch on July 19th to hear reports on the regional economy, learn business tips,
and come prepared with any questions you may have about doing business with Arab nations.
More information on this event is featured further below in this newsletter.
I look forward to all July has in store for us and cannot wait to provide a full report next month.
Until then, enjoy the great outdoors!
Go GlobalKC!

[WTC-KC WELCOMES CITCA]

On June 16-17, the World Trade Center - Kansas City had the privilege of hosting 17 delegates
from 10 countries from CITCA, the Chicago International Trade Commissioners Association. This
two-day event involved the opportunity for Kansas City area businesses to meet with these trade
commissioners one on one, participate in roundtable discussions, hear presentations from the City
of Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS on their respective metropolitan economies, and more.
The delegates also had a chance to ride the brand new KC Streetcar as well as tour Hallmark
Cards headquarters, the Kauffman Center, and Western Forms. The delegates left with a
newfound appreciation of the business and cultural environments of Kansas City, and they look
forward to partnering with the World Trade Center - Kansas City in the future.

[BREXIT: WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW]

Mark Johnson, Partner at Dentons US LLP, the largest law firm in the world, shares his thoughts
on the Brexit:
On June 23 the people of the United Kingdom voted by a narrow 52% to 48% margin to
leave the European Union. Although London is more than 4000 miles from Kansas City, the UK is
an important trading partner for many regional businesses. What are the immediate effects of the
Brexit vote? Should businesses in Kansas City brace for fast change?
