Motivation letter

To whom it may concern,

I hereby express the reasons why I want to participate on The Ship for
World Youth Leaders that takes place this year in Japan.
Considering the actual situation of the small percentage of young
participation in politics or social organizations that can be seen on surveys
organized by INJUV, an idea is born that as young people, we look for tools with
the purpose of promote the participation of our fellow citizens in different social
activities.
Is for that matter that it is important to establish formative spaces that
help us lead and manage in an effective manner, for those who with passion
decided to take the road of public service to help out our fellow citizens and the
community we belong to.
I currently study business informatics in the University of Talca, where I
have participated in different student groups and student body councilors as
president and secretary respectively. Besides, during 2008 2012 I was
president of the Victoria Cultural Center in Curic, the city I was born in. Since
this year, I lead the Youth of Christian Democracy as president, where I have
managed formative processes and different activities on civic, political and
social network participation as well as forums with current national issues.
In this order, I understand that The Ship for World Youth Leaders is an
ideal opportunity which benefits me especially in different aspects:
First of all, cultural enrichment through the interaction with young people
from all around the world, which broadens the vision and helps improving the
perspective used to see our own reality. To get to know the Japanese culture
and its history and also the current situation on political issues and
participation environments, that way we can try and implement some of those
new ideas in my environment here in Chile. To strengthen my leadership and
management abilities, setting new networks beyond the boundaries of my
country, understanding the challenges of the globalization and the new age of
communication we face. With this, I can improve quantitatively and
qualitatively my contribution with the society.
The possibility of being part of The Ship for World Youth Leaders makes
me realize the huge opportunity I have in front of me, and because of it, I am
convinced to take advantage of it due to my personality, adapting capacity and
high flexibility to integrate myself among people from different cultures.
Sincerely,
talo Martnez Izeta
