no. 3
Last year, just before the finals, English Club held a charity event. Girls
from the Club brought their ambrosial homemade muffins, cookies,
and pies, and sold them together with coffee or tea. From 10am to
12.30pm they collected 242Lt and two giant bags of doggie food!
Members of the Club are very happy and thankful for your kind contributions. Students, lecturers, guests, and members of the staff
donated money, and many of them didnt even take anything in
change for that. All of us admire your affection and generosity. Dont
worry, all that we collected went into good hands. We gave everything to organization Les, which takes care after homeless (and
usually ill) animals. Now they will be able to buy more medicaments, food, or equipment necessary for taking care after our little
furry friends.

I Am Not An Exception
All of us at some point have
had our very first love that
some of us still remember it
till now. The lecturer of English philology Jolanta Lgaudait says she is not an exception, because the first love
visited her heart too. Yes, I
had my very first love, says
the lecturer. There was a boy
that I was so fond of. The
crush was much deeper than
just physical attraction. Its
not like you notice a girl in a
street and say: oh, this girl is
totally going to be my love.
Unfortunately, as every first
love, this one ended up as
well. I think that the first love
is condemned to collapse
earlier or sooner. In a real life,
its just like in Romeo and
Juliet.

Romance, romance...
Some people find their only one at once; some of them
live half of their lives to find the perfect him/her. Anyway,
to experience true, real love is an event of a lifetime and
to celebrate it we have one special day in the year. Yeah,
thats right Valentines day. For those, who still are out
for search, romantic movies come for help. They let us not
forget, that somewhere out there is a person for us and we
shouldnt let our hopes down. One day we will be
rewarded.
On the occasion of the Valentines Day I,
Karolina, want to share with some romantic movies which
everyone should definitely see. Stop watching Titanic, and
see something new, lovebirds!
The Notebook
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old
woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two
young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun,
who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie
meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah
still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fianc and her
first love.
If only
After his impetuous musician girlfriend, Samantha, dies in an accident shortly after they had a fight (and nearly broke up), a griefstricken British businessman, Ian Wyndham, living in London gets a
chance to relive the day all over again, in the hope of changing the
events that led up to her getting killed.
