Summary
"One of the most talented and observant people I know. Nothing gets past Michael." -Dr. Seth Tabb, Founder
and Medical Director of Family Psychiatry & Psychology Associates, P.A. Despite his silly and quirky sense
of humor, Michael is a direct person who doesn't typically dance around a problem waiting for a solution.
Having been trained in assertive communication and leadership, he is able to balance his blunt nature with
the importance of empathy and compassion. He has a very broad interest pool and is always working on a
new idea. As a polyglot, Michael thrives in a multicultural environment. He grew up in a household that
spoke French and English, is fluent in Spanish and German, and is currently working on his Japanese. He
obtained his diploma after graduating in 2011 from the prestigious boarding school St. Johnsbury Academy
in Vermont, where he was voted "most likely to succeed" by his senior class. During 2013-2014, Michael
spent a year studying linguistics and psychology in Germany at the Universitt Tbingen. He is currently
completing his senior year at East Carolina University, majoring in Psychology, and minoring in Linguistics.
He plans to apply to graduate school soon to obtain his MA and then Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. He runs
a relationship advice blog called RelationView and has his own photography website. Michael is preparing
to graduate in May, while raising his new golden retriever puppy, Nala. Specialties: -suicide intervention
-interpersonal communication -language acquisition -social analysis -multitasking -performance under high
pressure -counseling -motivation -self-actualization -relationships -leadership -meditation -culinary arts landscape photography

Experience
German and Psychology Tutor at East Carolina University
October 2014 - February 2015 (5 months)
My job was to provide academic support to students looking to excel in their German language classes, levels
1-4. This was accomplished via consultation, where I would meet with an individual and determine effective
study strategies and organizational techniques, as well as enhancing linguistic performance through speech
practice.
Sous Chef at Vesuvio Restaurant
June 2012 - August 2012 (3 months)
I spent the summer living in Carmel, California. I took this time as an opportunity to improve my culinary
skills-I learned how to make many italian dishes, including salads, fresh pasta, and worked at their bakery in
the mornings.
Chef at Unique Catering, Inc.

2007 - 2010 (3 years)

Working for Roger Perez and the Unique Catering, Inc. team has been one of the best experiences of any
work I've done. It was a true privilege to team up with CBS Sports at golf tournaments and cook for the
broadcasting team and some PGA Tour Members. We work at specific weekends or week long events.
Sous Chef at Angus Barn Restaurant
June 2009 - June 2009 (1 month)
I participated in a short-term internship at the reputable 5-star Angus Barn restaurant in Raleigh, NC. I
worked on desserts, salad making, and learned the process of professional food preparation and service. This
was my first experience in the restaurant industry.

This organization serves as a combined receiver of DIAL-A-TEEN, the national suicide prevention hotline,
and the Veteran's Crisis line. My job as a volunteer counselor is to take clients' calls, in which I provide
emotional support and work with the client to form an action plan. REAL Crisis prepared me to handle
generic distress situations, when clients just need someone to talk to, as well as high risk/emergency
situations like domestic violence, child abuse, runaways, sexual assault, and suicide.
