Introduction
This document describes the minimum configuration steps required on the Huawei MA5600 Digital
Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) in order to allow the Veryhighbitrate digital subscriber
line (VDSL) to train up on Cisco Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Prerequisites
Requirements
Cisco recommends that you meet these requirements before you attempt this configuration:
Cable tightly connected on the VDSL port of the CPE and on the correct port on the patch panel of the
DSLAM
CPE and the DSLAM/ Line Card must be up and running
Components Used
The information in this document is based on a Cisco 887VA router that acts as a CPE and a Huwei 5600
DSLAM. However, this document is not restricted to specific software and hardware versions.
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the
devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure
that you understand the potential impact of any command.
Background
This document aims to help engineers set up Cisco CPE and a Huawei DSLAM in backtoback/lab
environments and understand the basic profiles on the Central Office (CO) end of DSL.
Configure
Complete these sections in order to configure your equipment:
Line Profile Configuration
Channel Profile Configuration
Line Template (Combination of Line Profile and Channel Profile) Configuration
Apply the Line Template on the Respective DSLAM Port where CPE is Connected
Note: Use the Command Lookup Tool (registered customers only) in order to obtain more information on the
commands used in this section.
