IntheearlyyearsofthetwentyfirstcenturytheDREAMAct(Development,Relief
andEducationforAlienMinors)wasintroduced.Itwould
offeryoungundocumented
immigrantsapathwaytowards
citizenship
iftheyhavelivedinthecountryforfiveyearsand
eithercompletedtwoyearsof
highereducation
ormilitaryservice.Thesituationistherehas
beenmanyargumentsaboutthisbillsayingitshouldbepassedorshouldnotpassatall.There
aretwoarticlesthatargueaboutthistopic,MarshallFitztheauthorofLawmakersShouldPass
theDREAMAct,writtenin2013stronglybelievesthebillshouldpass,whileMichelleMalkin
authorof"LawmakersShouldRejecttheDREAMAct,writtenin2013stronglybelievesthat
thebillshouldnotpassandsaysitsawasteoftime.
InMarshallFitzsarticlehetalksabouthowyoungimmigrantsshouldnothavetosuffer
notbeingabletoattendcollegeorserveinthemilitary.Hestronglyarguesthatcongressneedsto
hurrytopassthisbill.InthearticleFitzwritesaboutthemanyadvantageswecanallgetby
passingthisbillandnotthinkingtwiceaboutit,itisclearwhatFitzistryingtosaytothereaders.
Notonlyishetalkingabouthisownopinionsaboutthebillbutuseslotsoffactsandstatistics
thatstatesthemanybenefitswecangetfromthebill,forexamplestatedinhisarticlethatthe
nonpartisanCongressionalBudgetOfficeconcludedthattheDREAMActwouldreducethe
deficitby$2.2billionoverthenext10years.HeexplainshowtheDREAMActwillbe

affordablewhichcatchesmanyreadersattentionbecausemanypeopledonotwanttopassabill
thatwouldcostlotsoftaxmoney,likehetalkedaboutinthearticlehestatedthatdeportingthe
700,000eligiblekidswouldcosttaxpayers$16.2billionoverfiveyears.Heusesthewordkids
insteadofyoungillegalimmigrantswhichgetstheattentionofmostparentsandsympathises
withtheyoungimmigrantsbecauseatthemomentofreadingthearticlemanywouldthinkof
theirownchildrenandimaginewhatifitwastheirownkidshavingtogothroughallthe
hardshipsyoungimmigrantshavetogothrough,thishelpsFitzgetmoreaudience.
InMichelleMalkinsarticleshetalksabouthowtheDREAMActshouldnotbepassed.

AfterreadingbotharticlesitisclearthatFritzhasastrongerargumentabouttheissue
withthepassingoftheDREAMAct.Hestateslotsofgoodandinterestingfactsandwouldmost
likelygetlotsofpeopletoagreewithhimespeciallytheaudiencewhohavechildrenoftheir
own.Fitzwasclearandgottothepointonwhatsgottobedone.WhileMalkinhassomegood
pointsabouttheissue,butshefocusestoomuchwiththenegativewhichisgoodtogetpeople's

short,butMarshallFritzhasabitmoreofeverythingandhasastrongerviewontheissuewith
thepassingoftheDREAMAct.
