GENERAL
INTRODUCTION
Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang) is planning to develop Walanga, Sampi Sampi and Bonge
Gas Fields at South Sulawesi that expected to produce 80 MMSCFD of gas from six (6)
wells. From wells, associated gas and hydrocarbon liquid will be delivered to Keera
Metering Station through Trunkline 16 as far as approximately 19 km to be processed.
The Keera Metering Station will be designed for capacity 80 MMSCFD. The main
equipment of Keera Metering Station consists of Separator, Coalescing Filter, Custody
Meter, Liquid Tank and Liquid Pump and utilities. The delivery point for sales gas is at
Keera Custody Meter. The sales gas will be further treated at LNG Plant.

Pipe Wall Thickness

The wall thicknesses specified in the Piping Classification

Sheets (Appendix

IV) were calculated using the ASME B31.3 formula for "Straight Pipe Under
Internal Pressure" using the allowable pressures listed against each pipe class as
the "internal design gauge pressure". Manufacturer's minus tolerance, thread

corrosion allowance were included when appropriate.

The pipe wall

thickness shown is a standard wall thickness equal to or greater than the calculated
thickness for each size.
4.1.2

Socket-Weld Versus Threaded

4.1.3

Use of Socket weld and threaded connections shall comply with WSB-KMS-PI-SPC001, Piping Design Specification

4.1.4

Threaded joints shall not be used on process service, with the exception of
instrument connections.

4.1.5

Branches

4.1.6

Branch connections shall

be made

m accordance with

WSB-KMS-PI-SPC-001,

Piping Design Specification, Section 13, Branches Connections.

4.1.7

Branches for sizes above 24 inches shall meet the requirements of API RP14E except
"size to size" branches shall be determined on an individual basis considering
service, pressure, temperature, cost and availability.

4.1.8

Threaded or socketed elbolets or full-length couplings with a thread or socket in one

end only may be substituted for thredolets or sockolets if required for instrument
connections. Full-length couplings with a thread or socket in one end only may be
provided, where necessary, for vents and drains. A straight size tee and a swage
nipple may be used in place of a threaded or socket weld type reducing tee. Bushings
are not allowed.

4.1.9

Care shall be exercised in the detail design of small branch connections to prevent
mechanical damage or breakage due to vibration or excessive force. Connections
that may require bracing include sample points, instruments, purges, thermal relief
valves, corrosion probes, and vent and drain connections (particularly where double
blocks and bleeds are required). The bracing method shall be subject to the approval
of the Company. Care shall be taken in the location of small connections in piping
subject to thermal movement.

4.2
4.2.1

Valves
Substitution of specified valves may only be made with written approval of the
Company.

4.2.2

Handwheels, lever operators, wrench handles or gear operators shall be provided

for each valve as required. Specific requirements for gear operators are given in
WSB KMS-PI-SPC-001,Piping Design Specification.

4.2.3

Flanged end valves which are described as outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) shall be
provided with stem protectors.

All valves except check valves shall be capable of sealing with design pressure
applied from either end of the valve.

4.2.7

Double

seated

valves

capable of sealing

simultaneously

against

pressure

differential from the bonnet section to the adjacent pipe in both directions shall be
equipped with pressure safety valves to relieve cavity pressure buildup.
4.2.8

Valves ANSI Class 900 and above shall have ring joint faced flanges in accordance
with ANSI B 16.20, Ring-Joint Gaskets and Grooves for Steel Pipe Flanges
unless otherwise indicated.

4.2.9

ratings shall be in accordance with ANSI B16.5, except

as modified for resilient seats.

4.2.10 Unless otherwise

specified, valves shall be suitable for piping class service

conditions and fluids throughout the temperature range of the pressure class.
"Mfr's Standard" refers to "Mfr's Standard" Materials and design, suitable for the
service conditions, specifically in relation to Elastomers used.
4.2.11 All valves shall be marked in accordance with MSS-SP-25.
4.2.12 In the absence of a specified test procedure, API Standard 598, Valve Inspection
and Test, or API Specification 6D, Pipeline Valves, shall be used as a basis.
4.2.13 A valve manufacturer

with whom

an order has been placed

shall not

suborder assembled valves from other sources without the approval of the
Company.
4.3
4.3.1

Control Valve, Instrument and Service Connections

Control Valve Connection
Flange rating for control valve connections shall be suitable with Piping class rating.

4.3.2

Primary Instrument Connections

Instrument thermowell connection shall be 1 " RF or "NPT as specified on
the instrument data sheet.
