DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS
More than 70 percent of the deaths recorded
in the Philippines annually are due to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart
illnesses, chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD), diabetes, cancer, and others.
Present statistics from other official sources
show the country was only 94-percent
sufficient in rice as of last year, based on a
formula that considered palay (unmilled rice)
production, imports and exports.
Research shows that the Philippines, the
worlds biggest rice importer for several
years, wastes rice worth at least $535,000
(P23 million) every day, or at least $223
million a yearenough to feed 4.3 million
people.
INFERENTIAL STATISTICS

eating junk food or
