Hazardous Attitudes
Hazardous attitudes increase
the risk of poor decisions.
1. Anti - Authority

Poor decision can lead to a near

miss, incident, or accident.

There are five hazardous attitudes :

Dont tell me what to do

People who dont like any one telling them
what to do.
Tend to regard rules, regulations, &
procedures as unnecessary.
How to handle ?
Follow the rules : they are
usually right. But we can
give a reminder that rules,
regulations & procedures
are necessary.

2. Impulsivity

People Must do something now

Who frequently need do something,
anything, immediately.
Dont take time to think about what they
are about to do.
How to handle ?
Self reminder to always
think first and think twice.

3. Invulnerability

4. Macho / Egocentric

accidents happen only to
others, but cant happen to
them.
Think this way are more
likely to take chances and
increase risk.

I can do it. Ill show them.

People who often take
risks to prove that they are
good and to impress
others.

How to handle ?
Always think that accidents
could happen to me too.

How to handle ?
Always think that taking risks
without thinking is a fault.

5. Resignation

Whats the use? There is

nothing I can do.
People will leave the
action to others, for better
or worse.
How to handle ?
Always think that :
