Higher carbon content than SS308L.
Used on 304H base material.

SS308L
(ER308L)
For use on dairy, pulp and paper, textile dyeing, refinery and chemical equipment.
Low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation.

SS308LSi

(ER309)
For use on 18/8 clad steels, heat exchangers, kiln linings, exhaust manifolds,
carbon steel to stainless, and heat treating equipment.

SS309L
(ER309L)

Used on heat exchangers, furnace parts, and combustion chambers.
Also used to repair paper digesters and chemical equipment.

SS316
(ER316)
For use on mild sulfuric acid applications, petroleum refinery equipment,
pharmaceutical equipment, pulp and paper processing equipment, and textile finishing.

SS316L
(ER316L)
Used for weldments where carbide precipitation must be reduced.
For use on process equipment fabricated with type 316L molybdenum bearing
stainless steel.

SS316LSi
(ER316LSi)
High silicon content improves wetting action, resulting in flatter, smoother welds.
This reduces cost of weld metal and finishing cost for equipment used in dairy, food,
pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

SS317L
(ER317L)
Used in pollution control equipment where corrosion is too severe for type 316L.
Also used where pitting is a problem in chlorine environments.
Resists carbide precipitation due to the low carbon content.
