Presentation
What is done or thought, if not published or disseminated, does not exist.
R. Ishiyama C.
Investigate is to increase the culture and try to give a solution to the problem
s through experimentation, improving and expanding on what investigated or searc
hing for new information; getting results and discussing what was found to reach
the conclusions. The essence of the intellectual life consists in the exercise
of critical thinking, the most obvious expression is scientific research that co
ntributes to increase knowledge and culture; in addition to providing comfort, c
aring for the environment, improve the health and nutrition mainly.
The basic research starts with curiosity, is not forced to achieve an end defaul
t is investigating to investigate, is the initiation and support of any investig
ation. The applied is more specific and seeks to find solutions in a predetermin
ed period. The majority of researchers are started conducting basic research.
The pure research interested in the continuity and integrity of the science itse
lf and the applied whose immediate commitments is urgent, are intimately linked
and feed off each other. A feature of the outcome of the investigation is to be
subjected to checks that determine its validity. When the researcher estimated t
hat has obtained results based verifiable or considers that your idea or theory
must be known and discussed to be applied for the benefit of the Community, writ
es it as an article in a journal that publishes with international standards. Th
e progress of science is the sum of the number of research work.
There are numerous books that recommended as must be performed and to publish th
e results of an investigation, contain detailed theoretical concepts about the q
ualities and steps that you must follow the researcher in order that the results
may be used by any interested person; in the books is the personal opinion of t
he author, no two books that seem in good percentage between them. Here are some
simple suggestions and practices used by the scientific community.
The university is the institution which is responsible for the formation of at l
east the first steps of the researchers, does not apply the standards that are t
he most effective means for an adequate communication established in the scienti
fic discipline. The man of science is doing research to learn practicing, in add
ition to the recommendations theoretical. So is achieved enterprising profession
als, with initiative, I wish to investigate, correct judgment, love for his prof
ession and to their fellow human beings and the environment; able to focus the p
roblems to solve them properly.
Guidelines for the publication of scientific articles Raul Ishiyama Cervantes 1

as any activity with a tendency to the standardization and globalization, substa

ntial changes have occurred in this work. Has changes in relation to the "Guidel
ines for the publication of scientific articles" 1999 Printed in paper and 2007
virtual.
At present it is investigated scientifically as biology, Accounting, chemistry,
Administration, Physics, Art, Medicine, History, Geography, Social Sciences, Eng
ineering, Agronomy and others. Because each time you publish more scientific wor
k was necessary to a standardized format that allows easy understanding of what
you want to communicate, the understanding must be clear between the persons, in
stitutions, languages and countries. If each scientific group maintains its own
publishing system, the standards would be so many that the information would be
limited to small nuclei.
At the end of the seventies the "Vancouver Group" found that there were 2632 way
s to write the scientific article, which hindered the understanding and communic
ation. Some not read certain magazines because they were not accustomed to its f
ormat. Scientific research is universal, requires basic knowledge that will be p
rogressively refined to work in a systematic and disciplined. The guidelines sho
wn here relate to the way to publish, the type of research is free on the part o
f the investigator.
The work done with investment of money, time and effort, must not end in the ora
l presentation before a group of people as occurs in the majority of the scienti
fic events, must be published with the objective that is used for the benefit of
the Community, in the region of the country and if possible in the world. The y
oung researchers looking for models for the drafting of its investigation, here
is the way as requested by the indexed journals, with basic indications in each
section.
Presents the project outline, work plan or protocol in a simple way in order to
have a simple design, concise and precise, without the series of definitions; it
s structure is similar to the first part of the final report for that once compl
eted the investigation conforms to the instructions of the magazine in which you
want to publish. The structure of the article experimental or quantitative, as
well as the monograph or qualitative, according to the standards; article monogr
aph or qualitative has the same importance as the experimental. Examples of summ
ary structured and unstructured.
Bibliography for consultation. As a complement, suggestions for the undergraduat
e thesis, as quoting references and the indications on the Vancouver style. To e
xpand the information should be see similar publications, preferably the instruc
tions of the magazines, due to the end of the research is to be published in the
m.
This publication is based on the experience of the Department of Biology at the
Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, where for more than twenty years developed
the course of Scientific Research for students in the pre degree. The students
designed their projects, developed research, wrote in standardized format and pr
esented the results to their colleagues and advisers to be analyzed and discusse
d. You learned eron to investigate investigating.
Develop research and write the article is simple, knowing the bases, following t
he standardized guidelines and adequately managing the drafting.

The qualitative research involves the observation, information collection, inter

Thesis
in our environment there is a common model of the thesis project, virtually ever
y faculty and school of post degree has its own. The schemas, regulations or gui
des of the thesis project request a series of complicated steps, do not consider
that research is a natural act, the natural is simple; there are exceptions. Th
e advisers requested to be impeccable with a series of directives and definition
s, for this reason the graduates take months in its design.
Guidelines for the publication of scientific articles Raul Ishiyama Cervantes 5

The majority of the consultants require changes and corrections as detailed as i

f it were to last forever; some claim that, based on those details are validates
the project and the results of the investigation, which is absurd; the investig
ation is validated when concludes, is published and disseminated, not before.
The project should be simple, being that, a project; while the research is carri
ed out will occur changes. It is not a dogma.
The thesis in an investigation like a scientific article, the difference is that
the latter has a maximum limit of pages for editorial reasons. The thesis is an
investigation with a large amount of data, detailed procedures, without limit o
f pages.
It is suggested that the thesis project is similar to what has been indicated ab
ove, in order that after the lift is adapted to the instructions of the magazine
where the author wishes to publish; compensating the effort, time and money spe
nt to be put at the disposal of the community, for the benefit of the region of
the country and if possible in the world.

BODY OF THE ARTICLE

"The scientific article should be as the dress of the women: short enough to int

erest and long enough to cover the subject".

During several centuries, scientists developed and published their work in a mor
e or less desirable. The American National Standards Institute established as a
norm for the presentation of the experimental scientific articles, the IMRYD for
mat, formalizing a common aspect and practical.
The article must be written as contained in the "Instructions for the author or
contributor" of the magazine in which you are going to publish. Must have a titl
e, the name of the author or authors, the place where the work was performed, th
e date of receipt and acceptance by the editorial (puts the editor); the summary
with your keywords and the abstract with its key words. Then the body of work t
hat includes the Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and discussion; the
acknowledgments and bibliographical references.
The body of the article experimental must comply with what is called the IMRYD (
I = Introduction, M = Material and methods, R = Results, and = and, D = discussi
on)
Introduction = what problem or issue was studied and why?
Material and methods = How studied the problem?
Results = what was found?
Discussion = What mean those results?
The "Vancouver Group" has developed the "Uniform requirements for manuscripts".
There is in a detailed manner.
The scientific articles do not carry footer to clarify concepts of content. The
researcher writes in a clear, precise and concise.
Data forthe nu mricos and measures you must use the International System of Units

This format, written in a detailed way, similar to scientific report, allows tha

The data shown are essential if missing one of them the appointment has no value
because the reader may not locate with ease the publication.
The reason for that is placed surname and initial of name or names, is due to th
e fact that the information is located in the databases, the system is responsib
