(1) Service Code 56 (new Marine Software V510.30, V512.28, V513.29)
As a part of the continuous improvement programme we have recently issued a new version of the Marine engine
Software for the above mentioned engine types, starting from engine serial number as in below table mentioned.
Engine models delivered before engine serial number as in below table mentioned, can be as well updated to the
new version of Marine engine Software.
If you like to update, please have a look at the ECU P./No. which is shown on the ECU sticker.
Is the ECU P./No. (shown on the sticker) the same as in below table mentioned, an update to the New ECU
Software is possible.

Please be informed that Software V510.30, V512.28 and V513.29 is prevents Service Code 56 (= refer to
Service Manual- Setting of rack position) which can be active set on ECUs programmed with earlier Software
versions.
Software Updates are only credited from STEYR MOTORS under warranty if:
1) engine serial number is in BASE ENGINE WARRANTY and 2) Service Code 56 is present.
Otherwise STEYR MOTORS will not credit any ECU updates to New ECU Software under WARRANTY.

If Control Solenoid P./No.2205211/2 (see below photo) has to be replaced and ordered as spare part under P./No.
2205211/2 by STEYR MOTORS, you will receive latest Control Solenoid and Rack-Sensor with P./No. Z002153-0
(see below photo)

NOTE:
- After replacement, calibrate rack position following STEYR MOTORS Service Manual P./No. Z001019/0- see
chapter 06.10.03.
- If Service Code 56 is activate, proceed with update of Marine Software to V510.30 or V512.28 or V513.29
following point (1) of this Service Bulletin.
- Replacement of Potentiometer, Control Rack Position P./No. 2176628/2
If Potentiometer, Control Rack Position P./No.2176628/2 (see below photo) has to be replaced and ordered as
spare part under P./No. 2176628/2 by STEYR MOTORS, you will receive latest Control Solenoid and Rack-Sensor
with P./No. Z002153-0 (see below photo)
