Curriculum Description:
This course is designed to teach middle grades students basic keying skills, which consist of fluent manipulation of letter,
figure/symbol, and basic service keys, by touch. Emphasis is on the daily use of a computer system and appropriate
software to provide integrated training through a learn/practice/sustain/assess plan of skill building. Communication skills
are reinforced as students learn to format, compose, and proofread documents.
Curriculum Objectives:
After completing this curriculum, you should be able to:
Apply the touch method in operating the keyboard while increasing speed and accuracy
Perform basic computer operations
Understand document formatting skills
Prerequisites:
NONE
Instructional Methods:
In this curriculum, you will learn to use computers effectively. You will accomplish this through a combination of self-paced
learning, lecture and demonstration, and classroom activities that add to the concepts taught in this e-learning course.
The instructor will use a variety of tools to teach the e-learning course or provide you with the printed version of the elearning materials when necessary.
