1. History- The university was founded in 1888. Making it the oldest
continuously operating institution of higher education in Idaho. The school was first known as Bannack Stake Academy. The school opened with 59 students. In 1902 it was named Ricks Academy. In 1923 it became known as Ricks College. Which became the largest privately owned junior college in the US. In 2000 it was announced that Ricks College would become BYU-Idaho. In 2001 the school became BYU-I.

BYU-Idaho Center- This building has the auditorium, a
elevated indoor track and activities room that holds 10 basketball courts. It has a sky bridge to contact to the Hart building. Devotionals, Graduations, and firesides.

Manwaring Center- Named after the President that led BYUI
through the great depression and WWII. The dining area and the bookstore are located here. The testing center, copy and print center, and the activities office is also located in this building. A sky bridge connects this building to the David O. McKay library.

Romney Building- This is the building that has classes
and offices of those in physical science, engineering, chemistry, geology, and physics majors. A geology museum, and planetarium are located here. Named after the President who was here when the school became a junior college.

Spori Building- Named after the first principle of the school. It
is structured after the first building. Home of the college of performing arts, art, and communication. There is an art gallery located here.
6.
Austin Building- Home for the college of design, construction
management, automotive technology, computer technology, electrical and mechanical engineering. Named after one the chairmen of Ricks.

David O. McKay Library-160 thousand volumes, periodicals
and computers for internet research and composition, and a family history center. The academic support centers, archives, a special exhibition area, and instructional technology labs are located here.

Snow Building- This houses the departments of music and
theater. A lot of musical events are held at the Barrus Concert Hall. There is a recital hall, black box theater, and drama theater.

Clark Building- Named after the 9th President. Home of the
Health, Recreation, and human Performance, home and family, interior design, and nursing. A preschool is located in this building.

Smith Building- Named after the 10th President. This building
holds numerous offices and classrooms for different areas.
11.
Hart Building- Holds numerous athletic facilities for the
university here. This includes pool, dressing rooms, racquetball courts, and gymnasiums. The main gymnasium holds 5,000. This also holds the gym for fitness and wellness.

Kirkham Building- Named after a member of the Churchs
Presidency of the Seventy. This building holds ceramics and sculpture studios. A 900 seat auditorium.

Taylor Building- Named after the third president of the church.
Home of the colleges of Religious Education and Humanities and Philosophy. There is a chapel located in this building.

Kimball Administration Building- Named after the twelfth
president of the church. Hold most of the administrative functions of the university. The financial aid office and accounting is located here.

Benson Building- Named after the thirteenth president of the
church. This building has offices, classrooms, laboratories, and greenhouses. The wildlife museum is located here as well.

Agriculture & Engineering Building- This building holds
classrooms and offices of animal and food sciences. The agricultural mechanic shop is also located here.
17.
Student Health & Counseling Center- This serves the health
care needs of BYUI students. This has physicians, nurse practitioner, own pharmacy, laboratory, x-ray, and orthopedic services. This also has counseling services for single, group and marital counseling for students.

Hinckley Building- Named after the fifteenth president of the
church who also announced and guided the transition of Ricks to BYUI. This building is home to teacher education and the Rexburg Institute of Religion. There is also space for the university wards and stakes.

Ricks Building- Named after the founder of the pioneer
academy. This building holds the Departments of Geography and political science, history, mathematics, psychology and sociology, and social work. This building holds horticulture research area, picnic structure, reception area, test gardens, fur tree orchards, flowerbeds, and a native garden.

Rigby Hall- Houses the college of Education and Human
Development, the department of English, and ROTC.

Biddulph Hall- Holds the University Relations, Online
Learning and Pathway. Office space is used for curriculum development and other departments. Named after the first Dean od Students at Ricks College.
22.
Livestock Center-Located five miles west of Rexburg. Holds
the department of Animal Science Offices, laboratories and classrooms. This includes indoor arena feed lot, horse barn and 100 acres of irrigated fields. Students work with horses, cows, sheep, poultry, and swine.
