Monday

Wednesday

Bible Reading: Luke 9:18-27; Col. 4:10-18; Psalm 133-134; 1 Chron. 20-22

Bible Reading: Luke 9:37-50; 1 Thess. 2:1-9; Psalm 136; 1 Chron. 26-28

Based on yesterdays passage (Jn 6:41-59) Andrew mentioned four observations about eating. Meditate on these
observations as they apply to your life. 1)Jesus is useless
to you unless you feed on Him. 2) Eating is prompted by
hunger. Are you regularly hungry for more of Christ? 3)
When you consume food it becomes part of you. Is your
life in Christ looking more and more like Him? 4) Eating is
personal. Are you, in any way, depending on somebody
else for your standing in Christ? God wants your heart,
your obedience, and your affection.

Often we wonder what our churches should be about. We

wonder about our role at church as a believer. Sometimes,
church can become a very complicated factor of life. But it
is not meant to be this way. Our Lord meant His church to
be simple, and yet profound. We do not need fancy building
blocks in order to build a powerful church.
Read Acts 2:36-47, and see the early church held out to us
as a model. Their fellowship was a simple one. They preached
the gospel and people were saved. Those saved were baptized and added to the church. The church members devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to
the breaking of bread and the prayers. They were committed
to a few simple spiritual realities, and were attending the
temple together and breaking bread in their homes. It was
simple, yet it was profound: awe came upon every soul and
the Lord added to their number day by day those who were
being saved. Strive to ensure that you are devoting yourself
to the same things they were. Our building blocks are simple,
but with them, the Lord can build a powerful church.

Tuesday

Thursday

Bible Reading: Luke 9:28-36; 1 Thess. 1; Psalm 135; 1 Chron. 23-25

Bible Reading: Luke 9:51-62; 1 Thess. 2:10-20; Psalm 137; 1 Chron. 29

1 Thess 1:3 expresses Pauls thanks to God for the Thessalonians. He thanks God for their work of faith, labor of love,
and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. The
elders would like to thank all of you at this precious church
who labor in various ministries. Yours is a labor of love that
we praise God for. We thank God for you CBCP!

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to

our fathers b
y the p
rophets, but in these last days he has
spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all
things, through whom also he created the world. Hebrews 1:1-2
While God has always revealed himself to mankind from
the beginning, his most recent revelation through Christ is
preeminently more wonderful. It is great that God should
speak through a man (like Moses) to communicate Himself
to us. How wonderful that he has done this. It is better that
God should establish Prophets to carry his message of
truth to the peoples an official office for revelation from
God. That God should speak to us through a King (David)
is tremendous.
However, there is someone who knows God better than
all of them. There is someone nearer to God than any of
them could have been. There is a better revelation, a more
precious revelation, a more specific revelation about God
himself through someone who knows him best His own
son. God has spoken to us through his son. This truth is
marvelously precious to us.
