First Day MISSIONARIES: ZEALOUS IN THEIR SERVICE

Invitatory
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit.
Amen.
O God, come to our assistance. O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as
it was in the beginning in now and will be forever. Amen.
Introduction
As one family of Claretians rooted in the gospel message, let us
prepare ourselves to commemorate the 167th Foundation
Anniversary of our Congregation. Let us implore God through
St. Anthony Mary Claret and the co-founders for our missionary
spiritual renewal.
Prayer
Lord, pour out on us the same spirit you gave to St. Anthony
Mary
Claret whom you called to follow Jesus so that with the
same
missionary zeal we may announce the Gospel to all
people. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Reading
A reading from the Autobiography of St. Anthony Mary
Claret #227
In the course of meditating on the lives of these saints, I
used to feel such a burning within me that I couldnt sit
still. I had to get up
and run from one place to another,
preaching continually. I cant
describe what I felt inside
of me. Nothing tired me; I wasnt
terrified at the awful
calumnies being leveled against me, or afraid
of
the
greatest persecutions. Everything was sweet to me, as
long as I could win souls for Jesus Christ and heaven and
save
them from hell. (End of the reading)

Reflection
As one family, how do we show our love and concern in our
own designated work here in the school? Is our life rooted in the
gospel of love exemplified by our tireless Father Founder? Are
we witnesses of love in the congregation?
Intercessory Prayer:
(For every petition let us say: Lord hear our prayer)
We pray for the Claretian Mission in Africa, America, and Asia
may our brother Claretians assigned in these continents have
the courage to continually proclaim the Gospel of salvation. Let
us pray to the Lord.
We pray for the Claretian Mission in Oceania and Europe may
the Missionaries find joy, as they witness the gospel in their
lives. Let us pray to the Lord.
We also pray for our different apostolates in school, parishes,
publications, and social actions may their ministry become
instruments of peace, unity, and harmony as we build
communities of service. Let us pray to the Lord.

Second Day MISSIONARIES IN THE MARTYRS WAY

Invitatory
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit.
Amen.
O God, come to our assistance. O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as
it was in the beginning is now and will be forever. Amen.
Introduction
St. Anthony Mary Claret described the missionary in this way:
He thinks only on how to imitate Jesus Christ in working,
suffering, and seeking always and only the greater glory of God
and the salvation of souls. Let us be reminded of the
martyrdom
spirituality of our founder.
Prayer
Lord, may your Word and the teaching and example of St.
Anthony Mary Claret impel us, with all our might, to serve in
the building up and growth of the Church. Through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
Reading
A reading from the autobiography of St. Anthony Mary
Claret #573
From the seaport of Gibara I moved on to Holguin. For
several days I had been feeling very fervent and full of
longing to die for Jesus Christ. The love of God seemed to
be the only thing I knew
how or chanced to talk about,
both to the members of my
household
and
to
outsiders who came to visit me. I had a great
hunger
and thirst to suffer trials and shed my blood for Jesus and
Marys sake. Even in the pulpit I would remark that I
desired to
seal the truths I was preaching with the very
blood of my veins.

Reflection
Looking back to the Congregations history of pain and
suffering, we see our fidelity to the martyrdom that marks our
lives.

The first martyr died in 1868 and all had to go into exile.
The Founder himself was persecuted and died in exile.
At the beginning of the century, we were persecuted in
Portugal.
New martyrs during the persecution in Mexico.
In 1936 in Spain, 262 missionaries were inscribed in the Churchs
martyrology.
In China, in the 50s, they were forced into exile because they
were not natives.
Our very own Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, CMF was martyred in Basilan on
May 3, 2000.

Intercessory Prayer
(For every petition let us say: Lord hear our prayer)
Let us pray for all the Claretian Missionaries around the world
that they may be faithful in their missionary vocation in this
Congregation welcoming sufferings and persecutions. Let us
pray
to the Lord.
For our missionaries who are in difficult situations while
exercising
their mission, that they shall be strengthened and
nourished with
the unfailing presence of God. Let us pray
to the Lord.
For our missionaries, especially the elderly, the sick, the
afflicted, and the victims of discouragement or persecution, that
they may feel our fraternal affection as they live the present
moment with hope and joy. Let us pray to the Lord.

Third Day MISSIONARIES IN COMMUNION

Another missionary trait of the Congregation is communion.
Claret, having realized the great missionary demand,
established
the Congregation with other men with the same
missionary
vocation Fathers Stephen Sala, Joseph Xifr,
Dominic Fbregas, Manuel Vilar and Jaime Clotet.
Prayer
Gathered into one community in order to collaborate in the
ministry of the Word, Lord grant that we may pool our personal
gifts for the service of the common mission. Through Jesus
Christ
our Lord. Amen.
Reading
A reading from the autobiography of St. Anthony Mary
Claret
Experience has taught me that one of the most powerful
forces
for good is the press, although when abused it
can also be one of
the most potent weapons for evil.
By means of the press so many good books and pamphlets
are circulated that God should be
praised for it. Not
everyone wishes to or is able to hear the Word of God, but
everyone can read or listen to the reading of a good
book. Not everyone can go to church to hear Gods
Word, but a book can go to the persons house. The
preacher cant always be preaching, but a book is always
delivering the same message tirelessly and is always
willing to repeat what it says.
(End of the reading)

Reflection
The spirit of communion brings us in collaboration with one
another priests, brothers and lay partners. We share the same
spirit of mission and this brings us to serve the many people in
need of our ministry. Whatever we do, for as long as we share in
the same spirit of mission, is in response to the call of God.
Intercessory Prayer
(For every petition let us say: Lord, hear our prayer)
For the Congregation and each of the Claretian Missionaries,
that they may form one community of witnesses and heralds of
the Gospel. Let us pray to the Lord.
For all those called to Claretian Missionary life that they may
respond generously to the Lord and collaborate in the universal
mission of the Congregation according to their own vocation.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For all of us, that we may always work together in building
community and find in it our complete personal fulfillment. Let
us pray to the Lord.
