Holy Spirit Mass

I.

INTRODUCTION

(7:20AM)
Good morning dear brothers and sisters, welcome to the
celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit. It is indeed a joyous day
for all of us to gather as one Claretian community as we welcome
the new school year! We look and move forward in this school
year to be productive in all that we undertake in our ministries
and responsibilities. We continue to praise and thank the Almighty
God for gathering us all today as we invoke the presence of the
Holy Spirit to inspire us in all that we do; to inflame our hearts
with the Gifts of Understanding, Wisdom, Knowledge, Fortitude,
Piety, Counsel and Fear of the Lord so that our schools Vision
Mission and Core Values be put into action.
In this joyous year we invoke the guidance of the Holy Spirit
as we celebrate this year the 50 th founding anniversary of Claret
School of Zamboanga City. May we be reminded of the mission
that is entrusted to each one of us with this years theme:
Called to Serve with the Zeal of Christ. Through the
intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, may our hearts be
filled with love that we may be conformed to Her Son, Jesus Christ
as we continue the mission of our Founder St. Anthony Mary
Claret whose faith was embedded through his mission; a fire that
was inflamed all throughout his earthly life. Like Father Claret, let
us be witnesses and messengers of the joy of the Gospel that we
may live with Compassion, Humility, Excellence, Empowerment,
Respect for Life and Service that we may inherit the kingdom
Christ has promised us.
Our officiating priest is Fr. Mauricio
concelebrated by our Claretian Priests.

T.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled,

they were all in one place together.
And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,
and it filled the entire house in which they were.

Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire,

which parted and came to rest on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in different tongues,
as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.

Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven
staying in Jerusalem.
At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd,
but they were confused
because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
They were astounded, and in amazement they asked,
Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans?
Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language?
We are Parthians, Medes, and Elamites,
inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia,
Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia,
Egypt and the districts of Libya near Cyrene,
as well as travelers from Rome,
both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs,

yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues

of the mighty acts of God.

The word of the Lord.

C:

Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM: (to be sung)

Lord, Send Out Your Spirit and Renew The Face Of The
Earth
SECOND READING
A reading from the first letter of Saint Paul to the
Corinthians
Brothers and sisters:
No one can say, Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service but the same Lord;
there are different workings but the same God
who produces all of them in everyone.
To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit
is given for some benefit.

As a body is one though it has many parts,

and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body,
so also Christ.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body,
whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons,
and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.

The word of the Lord.

C:

Thanks be to God.

C:

Please rise to honor the Holy Gospel.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Halleluiah (to be sung)

GOSPEL
P:

The Lord be with you.

All: And with Your Spirit.

P:

A reading form the holy Gospel according to John

All: Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus said to his disciples:
If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father,

and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always.

Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
Those who do not love me do not keep my words;
yet the word you hear is not mine
but that of the Father who sent me.

I have told you this while I am with you.

The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my
name,
will teach you everything
and remind you of all that I told you.
The Gospel of the Lord.
All: PRAISE TO YOU LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
C:

Please be seated.
