Analyzer Update

1 In this version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for most
technologies that Actix supports, with changes falling under the following categories:

New collection of devices and improvements:

Added support for Nemo FF version 2.25.

Added support for FalconSmart file format.

Added support for latest version of several Qualcomm WCDMA messages.

Added support for LTE scanner attributes for up to 4-port antennas.

Application Layer improvements:

Added improvements to the Line to cell feature in Spotlight.

Added support for LTE-Advanced 3CC in Stateform and Screen Layout.

Resolved an issue that prevented the user from adding attributes while creating a new
template in Spotlight.

Platform:

Added support for LTE-Advanced CA in Line to cell in Map.

Added the ability to run the Reports specified in the Automatic Report Generator Jobs
from Repositories in the Attribute Explorer.

Added a number of improvements and bug fixes for the Automatic Report Generator.

Documentation:

Updated the help files for Event detection documentation.

Limitations and Known Issues:

2 New collection device or technology support


2.1 Ascom TEMS support

An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to crash while loading a specific TEMS logfile.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to display incorrect values for the attribute
Task_Server_URL.
Added support for additional Video Streaming attributes in TEMS file format.
A problem has been resolved that prevented Analyzer from displaying GSM Scanner
attributes in some specific TEMS logfiles.
An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from displaying LTE RRC messages in the
Protocol Stack Browser.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to peg false CSFB call drops from LTE to
UMTS, although the calls were successfully proceeding in the target RAT.
A problem has been resolved that prevented Analzyer from displaying relevant LTE and
LTE-Advanced attributes in the Attribute Explorer.

2.2 DataPro support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from setting GPS coordinates in specific
VoLTE logfiles.

2.3 Ding Li support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from correctly decoding LTE data from a
ZTE MF90C1 handset.

2.4 FalconSmart support

Added support for FalconSmart in Analyzer for all main technologies with both handset and
scanner logfiles.

2.5 Huawei Probe support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from fully populating the Data Testing
attribute node in the Attribute Explorer.

2.6 Nemo support

Added support for Nemo FF version 2.25.

Added improvements to the support of 3-Carrier Aggregation in LTE.

Added support for video MOS in Nemo Streaming Logfiles.

A problem has been resolved that caused Analyzer to set incorrect timestamps at the last
message of a Nemo logfile.

2.7 Qualcomm support

Added support for the attribute QC_LTE_UE_activity_state that indicates whether the
handset is receiving or transmitting data or not. This attribute can be helpful in
combination with LTE CDRX analysis.

Added support for the Qualcomm message WCDMA PN Search Ed.2 version 4.

Added support for the Qualcomm message GNSS Position Report version 6.

Improved the decoding of the Qualcomm message HS Decode Status with


Data" version 13.

2.8 Rohde and Schwarz support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from loading a specific R&S logfile due to
an invalid value of the attribute Uu_ActiveSet_EcNo.

2.9 VIAVI support

2.10

Added support for LTE scanner attributes up to 4-port antenna measurements.


Fixed an issue that caused Analyzer to set incorrect value of EARFCN in specific LTE
scanner files.

Generic
Updated the names of existing operators in Romania and added new PLMNs such as:

RDS&RCS

2K Telecom.

A problem has been resolved that caused Analyzer to incorrectly resolve a LTE cell while
the handset was in GSM mode.
In UMTS, support has been added for the Hard Handover feature based on e1c events.
This feature covers also the case of UMTS HHO Macro Metro (small cell).
In LTE, an issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to detect false CSFB call setup
failures.
In VoLTE, an issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from setting the attributes
SIP_Reason_Protocol_Cause and SIP_Reason_Text for X.INT protocol.

In VoLTE, an option has been added under Data > Configuration > LTE > Event Control on
the variable LTE_VoLTE_CallSetup_Trigger_Threshold in order to trigger a call setup at
the message Activate Dedicated EPS Context Accept.

3 Application layer improvements


3.1 Spotlight

Resolved an issue in Spotlight that prevented the user from adding attributes while
creating a new template.
Added a new technology-specific criteria in Spotlight for drawing line to serving/neighbour
cells on the map. Bins of specific technology will point to serving/neighbour cells only if
these latter are same technology cells.

3.2 Stateform

Added support for 3-Carrier Aggregation in the state form LTE-Advanced DL Radio
Charts.

3.3 Screen Layout

Added support for 3-Carrier Aggregation in the screen layout LTE-Advanced Throughput
Analysis.

4 Platform improvements
4.1 Automatic Report Generator

Added the ability to run the Reports specified in the Jobs from the Repositories in the
Attribute Explorer.

Changed the default trigger time to be end of the current business day (6 PM).

Added a state of Pending for recurring Jobs that have completed an iteration.

Fixed a problem where the date format of the trigger time could not be in US format.

Fixed a problem where the Restart button was not enabled for failed jobs.

Fixed a problem where the list of devices for the selected Repository Template would show
devices for all Templates.

4.2 Map

Added support for Line to Cell in LTE multi-carrier scenarios. When the UE is in CA mode, 2
(or more) solid lines are displayed on the map to resolve the Primary Serving Cell and the
Secondary Serving Cell(s).

4.3 Chart

An issue has been fixed that prevented the user from successfully changing the Chart
settings.

4.4 Network Explorer

A problem has been resolved with the Import from New Template functionality that could
cause Analyzer to crash while trying to import a cellref file.

5 Documentation

Updated the help files for the Event detection documentation relating to the LTE HO,
LTE RRC basic, and LTE VoLTE procedures.

6 Limitations and Known Issues

Desktop licenses are now limited to a maximum of six cores.
