Content: Students will watch 2 Youtube video and instruction will utilize 2 Prezi presentations.

Process: Students will engage in group discussion on the causes of poverty and will be
encouraged to share any personal experiences.
Product: Students will use Wordpress to create a blog to use throughout the course. For this
Lesson students will reflect on the causes of poverty and discuss which they feel cause has
made the biggest impact. Students will go out into the community and take a Picture of
Poverty, post it to their blog, and explain why they feel their picture describes poverty.
Students will also be given a multiple choice quiz at the end of the 2 lessons.
Readiness: This will be differentiated through the Anticipation Guide given at the beginning
of class.
Interest: Interests will be differentiated through the Picture of Poverty activity and group
discussion.
Learning Profile: This will be differentiated at the beginning of the semester when students
wrote on cards their names, what they hope to learn from the course, and what is helpful in
learning.

Class 1: Students will be given the Anticipation Guide to assess their knowledge. Students
have already received tutorials for accessing Web technologies via the syllabus and the
Instructional folder located on the course Blackboard site. Students will watch 1 youtube
video, view the prezi, hear the lecture, and participate in the group discussion.
Class 2: Students will watch another youtubve video, view the prezi, hear the lecture, and
participate in the group discussion.
After & Between class: Students will be encouraged to read from their text or view the
resources listed from the bibliography. Students will be required to write a blog post on what
they feel the biggest contribution to poverty is and another post for the Picture of Poverty.
Students will be encouraged to read and respond to other students blogs. At the end of the 2
class sessions, students will take a multiple choice quiz to further assess knowledge.
