Communication: We consider parents to be an important part of making the students

year successful and strive to communicate in as many ways as possible. Please check
your childs assignment planner and binders daily so you may be aware of the work he or
she is doing in class (they should be updating them daily). Please join our class
Remind.com account (information listed above). Check our class websites (math is
updated daily, ELA is updated as needs arise). When information comes home about the
INow Parent Portal please sign up. If you have questions or concerns throughout the
year, please feel free to send the teacher an email. He or she will respond as soon as
possible (email is the fastest way to get a response).
We are looking forward to a successful and exciting year! Some things to look forward
to for students are more labs in science, discovering ancient cultures in social studies,
laying the foundations for algebra in math and learning skills in ELA that students will
use the rest of their educational careers. We would like for students and parents to be
aware of our classroom expectations and homework policies before you come to class the
first day. We are looking forward to meeting and working with you and your child this
year and cant wait to start the year!

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Teacher Tip: Using common sense at all times and thinking before you act will help you
avoid most problems.

Students are expected to enter the classroom quietly and be seated with all
necessary materials when class begins.
Follow all directions.
Cheating will not be tolerated.
RESPECT is most important! Show respect to all adults, students, our building,
and the belongings of others.
No food, candy, gum, or drinks (outside of snack time) are allowed unless given
permission by the classroom teacher.

HOMEWORK POLICY

Students will be provided with a student planner. All assignments for each class
are to be written in the planner daily. Parents are encouraged to monitor this
planner daily. This will be one of our main ways of communicating important
information you need to know. If students lose their planner, they must purchase
a new one from Mr. Williams.
Students are responsible for obtaining missed assignments when absent.
Students will be given one day for each day missed to complete make-up
work per school policy.
Homework will be due on the day specified by the teacher. Late assignments will
be accepted during the current grading period. Repeatedly missing due dates may
be subject to academic penalties in rare cases.
