Course Description
This course is for students who have completed Immersion Korean Intermediate 1 or
demonstrate equivalent Korean proficiency. Students will complete tasks required in
special circumstances in real life and participate in free communication. Students will
learn about characteristics of Korean people and the cultural factors reflected in the
Korean language. Students will be exposed to more variety of texts than in Beginning
classes and will acquire communication skills through more advanced instruction based
on understanding cultural background.
II.
Course Objective
The objective of this course is to help students develop effective communication
strategies about topics related to Korean culture. Students will be able to put together
and give a relatively uniform speech about a given task or situation. Students will learn
communication skills for delivering information through assignments such as describing
and recommending an electronic device, describing symptoms, describing the status of
an object, sharing a memory. Students will be exposed to and enhance comprehension of
literature such as Korean folk talks and practical texts such as weather forecast.
